IN Where the winds meetyou will end up collecting a lot of items. Some of them are also quite important, although it may not seem so at first glance. That piece of armor you're wearing could be an ancient artifact waiting to tell its story.
The thing about antiques is that sometimes you don't know the value of what you've stumbled upon. But of course, this is a free game and nothing exists just to exist. Those antiques have other uses, if you can figure it out.
What are antiques?
In most areas in the game you can find Antiquities that are listed in the Journal for each area. While you unfortunately can't check which Antiquities come from which area in the Journal, you can at least find all your Antiquities in a bag fairly easily by filtering into Traceable.
Antiquities are usually left lying around in the area. It can be a letter, a piece of armor, a fan, a handkerchief, or anything else. Many of these will be equippable items when picked up too. However, not all Antiquities actually register as Antiquities when picked up. You must find out their value before they are registered as such.
If you pick up an item and it gets a compendium entry or has a fairly elaborate description, make sure you don't recycle them. This means that you can get them again at the incense burner if needed.

Where to find antiques
Antiquities are found in most areas, but be sure to check the journal for each area to see if there are any left to find. Unfortunately, they are not marked on the mapso you'll have to pick up everything you come across.
Searching for antiques
Since all antiques have some history behind them, they are usually not completely without context. This means you're more likely to find them in areas where something is happening.

It gets a little trickier when you find an item that will become an antique but hasn't been activated as one yet. You may already have it in your inventory, but it won't be marked as found. For this reason, it's best to try Antiques as soon as you find an item you think it might be.
Activation of antiques
Activating antiques is the real end goal when you get an item you think is an antique. Many of these items will have long descriptions which describe their history and usually offer hints on how you can fully unlock his Traces of the Past.
For example, Ye Wanshan's armor mentions that the armor was supposed to be entrusted to a monk. If you find this monk, you will unlock Traces of the Past for this piece of armor and turn it into an antique.
If you open the bag and filter to traceable antiques onlythen you will find all your antiques that you can always find more information about. From there you can click on them to bring up their respective pages and any clues on how to fully activate them and unlock the remaining traces of the past.
Halo Peak Censer Activation
Initially, Antiquities may seem like nothing more than a fun way to detail the history of the worldand until you reach Halo Peak, that's true. It's a fun system even at its core, encouraging you to explore the world even though there's more to it.
At Halo Peak, you will meet a man named Qingxuan who will talk to you Antiques, traces of the past and hidden edges. Discovering the depth of history of these objects can allow you to unlock their latent power through hidden edges. However, this first requires the use of Qinghe's memories.
Where to get the Qinghe memory item

How to get a hidden edge

Qingxuan also doesn't make it very clear how you actually unlock the Concealed Edge, although looking at the Incense Burner on the world map offers a bit more insight. After finding all the antiquities in the entire regionyou get the Hidden Edge.
And this doesn't apply to any single area like the General's Shrine, but to all the smaller areas within the larger one. For Qinghe, these areas are Green Wilderness, Moonveil Mountain, and Sundara Land. After finding all the antiquities in any of these regions, return to Qingxuan and he will give you a hidden edge for each fully completed region.
Once you get the hidden edge, just work with it in the menu and it will highlight every weapon you own that can be used on it, which will then permanently make it an accessory.
