The RPG has exploded in popularity since its worldwide release, largely due to the mountains of in-game content while being free-to-play. Now, Where the winds meet it allows players to experiment even more by taking inspiration from another hugely successful open-world game.
In terms of player numbers, people were happy with what the game had to offer at launch. In just 24 hours, Where the winds meet crossed the 2 million player mark and became one of the five most played games on Steam. Developers Everstone Studios are keeping pace with this by continuing to release new updates and patches, and fans have a lot to look forward to.

Where Winds Meet's new vehicle building mechanic now lives in China
On November 28, Everstone introduced a mechanic called “Ink Structure”. Where the winds meet's Chinese servers that allow players to piece components together to create their own vehicles. In-game footage shared on Twitter shows it being used to craft helicopters, carts, scooters and more, and users will almost certainly take it to more extreme heights, as they did with the very similar Ultrahand ability in Tears of the Kingdom. Zelda fans used Tears of the Kingdom's building mechanics to recreate Star Wars vehicles, make combat robots and more, and with how similarly open the ink's structure looks, it's only a matter of time before Where the winds meetThe concept of the system showcases the same creativity.
Ink Structure is currently only available to players in China, but as with other gaming systems, it will reach a global audience in the future, although Everstone has not specified when that will happen. What is clear, however, is that the mechanics will have a massive impact on gameplay. In addition to offering players more ways to traverse the world and face tough enemies, Ink Structure also introduces new collectibles as components, some with special abilities, will be scattered around the map. While some Where the winds meet activities are only available in Solo Mode, Ink Structure also comes with multiplayer aspects as users can share blueprints for the vehicles they create.
In addition to the structure of the ink, Where the winds meet the developers have prepared several improvements coming to the game in future updates. These include a fix for Solo Mode latency issues due to arrive in mid-December, Steam Deck compatibility, improved visual performance on PS5, and translation optimizations.
