Chaos Manufacturing is a new studio co-founded and led by Guy Costantini, former Global Brand Director of CD Projekt Red and former VP of Marketing and Publishing at Skydance Interactive. SOL Shogunate was revealed as the company's debut title during the PC Gaming Show: Most Wanted, which took place on December 4 and was one of the last gaming events of 2025.

The revealed trailer of the game presents a unique environment that mixes hard science fiction with Japanese feudalism. The titular shogunate is depicted as a multiplanetary empire spanning the solar system, including a colonized moon where a significant portion SOL Shogunate is taking place. Japanese pop rock band AliA is the first confirmed contributor to the SOL Shogunate soundtrack, with additional artists to be announced. One final confirmed detail about the game concerns its traversal capabilities, with the developers saying that Yuzuki will be able to navigate the surface of the moon using both a mechanical steed and a unicycle.
