According to a recent rumor, new Star Wars the game could be announced on The Game Awards this year, and it is not Star Wars Zero Company or Star Wars Eclipse. The rumor comes from @Kurakasis via a post on XCancel, which was then shared in a Reddit post by TomorrowComes33. There is no indication yet which Star Wars game it is, just what it isn't, and is as much a guarantee of appearing at The Game Awards 2025 as the rumor is actually true. However, any sign that the new Star Wars title could be on the way, it's enough to get fans of the franchise excited and anticipating what's coming next.
With both Star Wars Zero Company and Star Wars Eclipse according to rumors narrowing down the announcement to a handful of titles that could do with some sort of announcement to get the hype going. At the moment, these games are Respawn's third Star Wars Jedi payment, Knights of the Old Republic a remake currently being developed by Saber Interactive, and an untitled action-adventure from Amy Hennig. Based on the timing of the upcoming Game Awards ceremony and the status of those titles, either could receive an announcement. Additionally, Kurakasis said an announcement would be made “very soon” and did not mention The Game's pricing. However, there couldn't be a better time or place to make said announcement, so it's expected to happen at a ceremony if the rumor turns out to be true.

Why it could be Respawn's Star Wars Jedi 3
If there is a rumor that the new Star Wars the game will be announced very soon, it will end true, the most likely candidate is the third part in Respawn Entertainment Star Wars Jedi series. It was confirmed to be in development during Electronic Arts' Investor Day presentation on September 17, 2024, and quite a bit of time has passed since then Star Wars Jedi: Survivor that an early tease of a third post wouldn't be surprising. A brief cinematic introduction or title reveal would be more than enough to at least announce the release, especially since the series has become one of the most successful Star Wars game projects in recent years.
It is worth noting that there were 4 years between releases Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order and Jedi: Survivorand if it holds up for the next entry, it will arrive at least in 2027, since the second part was launched in 2023. As already said, the first trailer for Jedi: Survivor was revealed almost a full year before the game's release, so it's possible that the third and final installment could get a short teaser with a potential late 2026 or early 2027 release announcement at this year's Game Awards.
Why it could be a remake of Knights of the Old Republic
Another frontrunner for the rumored announcement is Knights of the Old Republic remake. It's no secret by now that the remake's development has been arduous, and updates have been rare since it was first revealed in 2021. So far, nothing has been revealed for the game, and similar projects, which have long periods of silence, sometimes wait for high-profile shows like the Game Awards to be revealed. As Hennig is widely regarded as one of the most respected creative directors and narrative designers in the gaming industry, her upcoming Star Wars the game naturally carries a high level of anticipation that would be befitting of a big announcement.
Of course, this is all pure speculation based on rumors, so fans should temper their expectations. Rumors like this are known to be false, especially when it comes to revealing major game prizes. Yet the idea that a Star Wars game could be on the horizon is undoubtedly exciting for fans to consider.
