Fortnite is getting Percy Jackson's island on December 9th

Epic Games revealed it Fortnite will collaborate with the hit Disney+ show Percy Jackson and the Olympianswhich will include a brand new island that promises to provide a unique experience for fans of the franchise. Fortnite recently released the 7th chapter of the popular Battle Royale, which brings new features to the title, such as a self-healing item, drivable reboot van, wingsuits and surfing. New seasons almost always come with a wide variety of fresh collaborations, which has definitely been the case with Season 7 so far.

Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Lightning Thief debuted in 2005 as a novel by American author Rick Riordan. The novel started a series of four books titled Camp Half-Blood Chroniclesalthough the Percy Jackson character continued his adventures outside of the initial series. After becoming a massive hit, Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Lightning Thief was adapted into a film of the same name that debuted in theaters in 2010. Although the film received a sequel, Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters then in 2013, fans were left waiting to see more of the story come to life on film for ten years. On December 19, 2023, Disney+ breathed new life into the series with the release of the first season Percy Jackson and the Olympians on the popular streaming platform. With the second season set to debut on December 10th, it looks like fans are about to get a whole new wave of content to enjoy.

Disney is bringing a standalone Percy Jackson Island to Fortnite

Epic Games has revealed that starting December 9th at 3:00 PM ET, players will be able to experience a brand new Fortnite island inspired Percy Jackson and the Olympians. The Disney-published island will provide players with a unique standalone experience that will allow them to join Camp Half-Blood and discover which Percy Jackson god is their parent, develop divine powers and team up with other demigods to fight Scylla and Charybdis in the Sea of Monsters. This will be the first time players will experience the official game Percy Jackson content in a video game in fifteen years since the franchise last appeared in a medium with a film title Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Lightning Thief for the Nintendo DS in 2010.

From Fortnite is a free-to-play title and Percy Jackson the content is self-contained, fans of the books, movies or shows can all jump into the island without having previous experience with Epic Games' battle royale. At the time of writing, Epic Games hasn't revealed if or when the experience will disappear, so players who want to participate in the content may want to do so sooner rather than later. It seems like the fans Percy Jackson and the Olympians you have a lot to look forward to because Disney+ has already renewed the popular series for a third season. It's a pretty big show of confidence, as the second season won't make its official debut on Disney+ until December 10th.
