This article contains spoilers from the Boruto series.
When it comes to iconic villains, Pain has almost always been one of the best not just in Naruto but in all of anime. Pain was the leader of Akatsuki who sought true peace for the entire world and pursued it in his own way. For the very first time, with Pain, Kishimoto introduced a villain so compelling that fans often couldn't help but agree with his ideals.
Boruto's new villain officially dethrones Naruto Uzumaki as the strongest
Naruto is strong but could this overpowered Boruto villain dethrone him.
Pain was a headache not only for the fans, but also for the main character Naruto Uzumaki. This is why he was such a phenomenal villain and why he is still remembered today. While Boruto Having had no villain on the same level as Pain until now, the series' new biggest villain, Jura, seems to be falling into a similar pattern. There are many similarities between Jura and Pain, and like the latter, Jura could become a compelling villain that fans will remember forever.
Pain was Naruto's most compelling villain ever
-
The pain required real strength
-
Pain's goal was the same as Naruto's
When it comes to iconic villains, Pain is pretty easily up there with the best Naruto had to offer. While Madara was particularly known for his strength and Kaguya was known for being the worst of them all, The pain was the most impressive. He wasn't the strongest villain the series had to offer, but he was definitely the most impressive.
Besides the Six Paths, the Rinnegan has another great power. It is the cruel Seventh Way, called the Outer Way. Those with the power of the fabled Rinnegan have the power to rule over life and death. Nagato gives up his life because he trusts you. — Konan to Naruto about the Rinnegan
The pain was a product of the violence of the ninja world and that's exactly what made it so compelling. In a way, Pain sought the same peace as Naruto Uzumaki. But he just went after his peace in a different way because of the things he suffered.
Pain's tragic backstory and noble cause made sure fans really understood where he was coming from. Even though his way of acting was not entirely correct, his way of thinking could be justified by many and that is what made Pain brilliant.
Jura brings the same energy as pain in Boruto
Now, in Boruto series, fans have Jura, who has been an absolutely brilliant villain thus far. While Jura wasn't fully fleshed out, it's quite clear that he is fascinated by human ideology.
what is love My current opinion is that this can be a fatal weakness, a flaw for you humans…it's a side effect of high intelligence. It will make you stronger though! — Jura Boruto Uzumaki, Two Blue Vortexes
Jura is the human incarnation of the Ten-Tails. So far he has obeyed his natural instinct, which tells him to eat and grow strong. But Jura is completely fascinated by the concept of human sacrifice and love. Jura knows that people become stronger through sacrifice, and he combines it all with love, despite the fact that at first he considered it a weakness.
Boruto: Kishimoto has already revealed Jura's next power-up, and fans might not be ready for it
Jura is the strongest Shinju, but his next upgrade will make him nearly invincible in Boruto: Two Blue Vortex.
It's gotten to the point where Jura wants to know what love really is by knowing and talking to Naruto Uzumaki, the man he considers the epitome of it.
While Jura isn't really a product of human-made crimes and violence, and hasn't suffered major tragedies like Nagato, he's clearly a very interesting villain who gives fans a philosophical problem to deal with.
This makes him very similar to Pain from the original Naruto seriesand also sparks fan intrigue in this character. So far, it goes without saying that Jura is the best villain Boruto has to offer, and that he has the potential to surpass even some of Naruto's villains.
Jura could be the perfect substitute for pain if handled well
Of course, Jura is still very raw. Fans know that this character has barely been explored and her arc has yet to be wrapped up. As such, it's still very early to say he's as good as Pain. However, the potential cannot be denied or ignored. Jura is an amazing character and could become a true replacement for Painif he is treated well by Kishimoto and Ikemoto.
Everything has been perfect so far, but fans will have to see how things unfold over the next few months and how his own character will continue. Hopefully, Jura will bring back the old and familiar feel of the brilliant villains in Boruto and give fans something spectacular once again.
