Side Mission 186: The Ultimate Techniques in Pokemon Legends: ZA Mega Dimension tasks players with fighting through three trials where the odds are stacked heavily against them. Players can only use one of them in each trial Legends of ZA Starter Final Evolution Forms: Meganium, Emboar, and Feraligatr to defeat three fully evolved Pokemon of the opposite type in a back-to-back battle.
It's a one-on-three in every test, and not only are the enemy Pokemon near max level, but they also have a type advantage. This guide includes battle strategy and the best builds for each trial, as well as an overview of how to easily secure victory.

How to get started with the best techniques
- How to unlock: 186 The Ultimate Techniques side missions are available in Hyperspace Mission 12: The Greatest Gift after players visit the Rust Syndicate.
Talk to each other Arcanes near Cafe Bataille inside 
Wild Zone 6 to start The Ultimate Techniques side mission. It will offer players three Trials: Trial of Grass, Trial of Fire, and Trial of Water.
To start a trial, put all Pokemon in your party into the box except for the one that needs to pass the trial. Trial of Grass requires Meganium, Trial of Fire requires Emboar, and Trial of Water requires Feraligatr.

Meganium
Savage Zone 15Mega Evolve as soon as the battle starts, then immediately set up a light screen. Light screen doubles Megania's Special Defense and halves the amount of damage Special Moves deal when targeted at a Pokemon. Both Charizard and Delphox are special attackers, and Blaziken is a mixed attacker, which means Light Screen gets a lot of value here.
Mega Meganium is still weak to Fire-type moves, meaning you'll need to rely on healing items like Max potion and Full recovery heal mid-fight. If the bag is on cooldown when you get to low health, use it Synthesisand you should be able to secure a win.

Mega Emboar is a brutal physical attacker, and in order to easily take down the water Pokemon it faces in this test, the stat boost from mega evolution is essential. Because Emboar has access to many super effective moves against water types like Thunder Punch and Solar Blade, this trial is all about offense.
Solar Blade is nominally the strongest move in Emboar's arsenal, and all three pokemon in the test are weak to it. However, due to the long ending animation associated with this move, it may not end as expected. Trailblaze it exists as a safety net to take advantage of any Grass-type weaknesses enemies may have.

The water trial is actually the easiest of all trials, as Feraligatr has an easy way to deal with his weakness: Mega Evolution. Mega Feraligatr becomes Water/Dragon type A Pokemon that cancels its 2x weakness to Grass-type moves. Water/Dragon is one of the better defensive types in Pokemon and Mega Feraligatr is only weak to Dragon and Fairy type moves.
All three Pokémon in this trial are weak to Ice-type movesmaking Ice Fang and Icicle Spear the best offensive moves for this matchup. Protect can be used in case things don't go as planned, while Breaking Swipe is here as a quick, STAB move to chip away at the last remaining health of any Pokémon that doesn't want to go down.

Completing all three trials will mark side mission 186: The Ultimate Techniques as complete and you will receive 10,000 poke dollars.
