The news is pouring in Fortnite is currently down. Fortnite players took to social media to share their grievances, with reports pouring in from all over.

The Christmas holidays are a great time for many gamers as most of them have time off from school or work to spend playing games. However, outages can also be a serious problem during the holidays, with major outages impacting players, such as the Steam outage on Christmas Day.

Fortnite is down on Christmas Day

Unfortunately, Christmas Eve has seen issues for non-Steam players as well, with players reporting that they are unable to access Fortnite. According to Down Detector, it looks like the game started receiving widespread outage reports starting around 5:00 PM PT, reaching 25,000 reports at one point.

This outage was confirmed by Epic Games at around 6:00pm PT, which says the game is a “major outage” specifically for logins. According to Epic, the problem also applies rocket league and Autumn Guys. The developers are currently working on a fix, and as of 7:04 PM PT, the developers warned that implementing the fix could knock some players offline. If players are actively in-game, get kicked, and can't log in, they should consider watching the Epic Games Status page to see when the fix will finally be deployed and everything will be back to normal.

Unfortunately for many fans, this outage couldn't have come at a much worse time. In addition to reducing Christmas game time, gamers are eagerly anticipating the long-rumored addition of IShowSpeed. Fortnite. The bundle is available now and includes two IShowSpeed skins, a Speed Cam, two emblems, a Barrier Breaker emote, Speed's Triden, an IShow's Speedboard, an ISpeedStyle skin, and a Head Shot/Gas in the Truck Jam Track for 3000 V-Bucks. Fortunately, players can purchase it until January 3rd, but since many players have been waiting for this moment, it's frustrating to find out that the game is unplayable.
