Invincible VS makes Angstrom Levy's roster stick out like a sore thumb

Spoilers for Amazon's Invincible Show and the recently released Invincible VS Fighting Game Ahead

Before Invincible VSRelease, developer Quarter Up and publisher Skybound Games confirmed that the roster will consist of 18 heroes and villains. Among others, Angstrom Levy is one of the most notable figures missing Invincible VSlist. It was already hard to swallow that his dimension hopping abilities wouldn't be present in the game, but Invincible VS'it's actually even worse with story mode.

It's been a hot minute since Invincible fans even saw Angstrom Levy. Timing between InvincibleThe recent season 4 finale and Invincible VSThe release is no accident, but neither contained Angstrom Levy's hair or skin. Currently caught up in a deal with the techies (on the show), he is unable to enact his all-consuming vendetta against Mark – no one hates him quite like Angstrom Levy. But that pure, visceral hatred is missing in Invincible VS despite all the indications that it should be there.

Invincible VS's story mode essentially relies on Angstrom Levy's in-universe identity

IN Invincible VSIn Story Mode, players will discover that the beloved titular hero, several Guardians and other heroes, as well as some Viltrumites, have all been captured by unknown invaders. They are trapped in a kind of dome that makes them hallucinate nearby enemies, all of whom have been captured by the Technicians. Technicians harvest energy from the character's struggles and right next to the rift that screams Angstrom Levy. His presence in the show, including the fact that he's still alive, is due to the Technics, and no in-universe changes (at least explained by this story mode) suggest why Angstrom Levy isn't involved.

As Invincible VSAs the story mode draws to a close, the sudden cliffhanger showing the Earth being mined by the Technicians all seems to be attributable to some plan by Angstrom Levy. At the very least, even if it could just be technicians, it's hard to imagine him not being involved. His absence was already bad, but the story mode makes it even more gut-wrenching.

The only good way out of this is Invincible VSupcoming DLC characters. Renowned leaker MultiverSusie claims that Angstrom Levy, among others, is coming at some point in the future. Beyond Levy, Immortal and Universa were confirmed Quarter Up with The Mauler Twins, Agent Spider, Damien Darkblood, Oliver, Dinosaurus and Volcanikka. That remains to be seen, but at the very least they would bring him into the fold.

Even more off, hopefully the DLC characters will come with new story chapters or something along those lines. The end of Story Mode is incredibly abrupt, but it's easy to see how all of the above characters could have been drawn into the story. As players fight their way through everything, they can eventually end up in Angstrom Levy, defeating him, but also going up against Dinosaur and Volcanikk for the damage from these mines. whatever happens Invincible VSThe end of Story Mode doesn't match Angstrom's absence at all.
