Wizards of the Coast often releases small exclusive limited-time Magic: The Gathering sets known as Secret Lairs. These feature unique art styles not seen elsewhere, as well as a bonus, unlisted card. This, combined with the rarity of each set, means that many Secret Lair cards increase in value significantly.
As a core card in any deck, land cards are critically important, and secret lairs give players a chance to acquire a number of unique, interesting, and playable lands that you otherwise wouldn't find in a booster pack any time soon.

Wasteland – $23
SLD #178 Art Series: Mark Poole
This Wasteland card by Mark Poole is from his author set. It conjures up images of the desert you would see if disaster struck Aladdin while searching for the lamp. Ominous rocks cascading down the side are a meticulous artwork representing a ruined temple.
The beauty of this land is also in its ability to sacrifice itself to destroy a non-basic land. If your opponent plays some of the more powerful lands on this list, this beauty is your counter.

Breeding stock – $23
Culture Shocks SLD #132
The Breeding Pool is a forest island card that comes into play tapped unless you pay the cost of two life. The effect is as menacing as the card itself, which is bathed in a deep green hue. Unknown creatures emerge from the depths of these pools, swimming in the green liquid and somehow incredibly hungry for creatures without distinct mouths.
The card is a dual land, allowing you to tap it for green or blue mana, offering variety over single-color lands and allowing for more color combinations in your deck.

Darksteel Citadel – $24
SLD #608 Mirrodinsanity
Darksteel Citadel is an artifact land that looks incredible. The retro pixel style is unique and eye-catching, making this card a great looking addition to your deck. It stands out against the usual art style and is especially likely to pop into retro RPG players as it looks like a place you would explore in the past.
The real beauty though is that the land is indestructible and can be tapped for one colorless mana. A small performance boost that can really go a long way.

Holes for a couple – $27
Culture Shocks SLD #129
Another two-tone land, Steam Vents, depicts a stunning windswept land with mist drifting over a pool of steam rising from its depths. The unique environment offers an image that looks at home in any deck.
As with other dual lands, it costs two lives to bring unused ones into play. However, once in play, it can be tapped for red or blue mana, offering the same flexibility as Breeding Pool, but for different deck types.

Insulated Chapel – $28
SLD #739 Doctor Who: Weeping Angels
Isolated Chapel is the third dual land card, this time for black and white. However, it is unique in that it costs no lives to play this idle game. Instead, the card will be played unused if you control Plains or Swamp.
The image itself is from Doctor Who and shows the iconic Weeping Angels lining the driveway to the chapel. This is one road you won't want to blink.

Large Oven – $29
SLD #303 Mirrodinsanity
The Great Furnace is an amazing pixel art card from Mirrodinsanity. It shows a huge and complex furnace that looks unique and eye-catching. The fire burns bright and vivid on a card that has art without borders.
An artifact land can be tapped for the red mana that corresponds to the fiery fire image on this card. Its status as an artifact also comes with the usual pluses and vulnerabilities.

Exotic set – $34
SLD #1231 Binder Experience 90s
The exotic set is a card that goes really hard on its theme. The 90s Binder Experience Secret Lair is colorful neon and this card is no exception. If you want to evoke pure 90s energy and Candyland vibes, then this is the country for you. Neon bunnies frolic in this candy-inspired set with plenty of ice creams and lollipops.
This card allows the mana you tap to match the color of any land your opponent controls, offering versatility for any commander deck. It is also legal in Legacy, Modern and others.

Emeria, The Sky Ruin – $41

Emeria, The Sky Ruin looks amazing in this traditional fantasy style design by Alayna Danner from the Artist Series Secret Lair drop. The buildings in the sky are placed in the background, yet still stand out against the cloudy sky with hints of the ocean below. The spiral railing surrounding the structure gave them a beautiful and unique look that is sure to look great on any deck.
This land card can return a creature to your battlefield from your graveyard if you meet the control criteria of seven or more plains. It is also legal in several formats, including Commander, Legacy, Modern, and Vintage.

Dracula's Tomb draws on classic gothic horror vibes in this creepy coffin artwork. An open casket surrounded by smoke and draped in intricate detail evokes richness and mystery. The addition of candles and a shadow against the wall gives this art a wonderful element of mystery that adds to the darkness.
Legendary land has a mechanic that involves sacrificing creatures to gain black mana. A suitably dark card for any Commander Deck, it is also legal in several other formats including Legacy, Brawl and Modern.

Rogue's Passage from Blueprint Cards Secret Lair is a unique design unlike many others. The background consists of sketched blueprints of a maze of passages in a style that evokes MC Escher vibes. The central scene is a colorful but muted illustration of someone entering a passage surrounded by trees.
If you want your artwork to be more traditional, interesting and unique, this country is a great choice. His secondary ability allows you to choose a creature that cannot be blocked for the entire turn.
