Driving is a complex matter My winter car. Especially if we're talking about your first vehicle, the Sorbet. This is not a car well equipped for snow, so you can quite easily lose control of your car and… kill someone. Of course you didn't want to do that, but now it's too late and the NPC is gone. Hopefully nothing else will happen, right?
Poorly! My Winter Car contains a jail system and in this guide we will explore everything you need to know about how it works and what you need to do to get out of jail.
My Winter Car is still in Early Access, so anything in this guide is subject to change.
How the prison system works
The game has invisible Wanted system which is triggered as soon as you perform certain actions. You'll never know you're wanteduntil it's too late: you went to sleep at your house, and when you wake up, someone is knocking on your door: the police.
Open the main door and you will see two officers. They will issue a warrant for your arrestwhich you must read and sign. Then blow, you're locked in a cell.
Once someone is looking for you, there is no escape: there will be officers at the front and back doors blocking all exits.
So, how did it happen? It shows there are several actions that can land you behind bars:
-
Punch an unconscious NPC.
-
Failure to stop at police traffic controls.
-
Crashing your vehicle into another and killing the driver.
-
Killing a pedestrian with your car.
-
Failure to pay accrued fines.
All of them are reported and documented on the game's wiki, but I tried to run some of them and couldn't. It's not that easy to kill someone with your car, and most NPCs don't react to your hits.
How to get out of jail
After signing the order, you will appear in the cell. At the top left of the screen you will see under all the usual attributes, new: Jail Days. So what can you do to get out of jail? Good… you have to spend those days behind bars.
An in-game day is equal two real hoursso that's all you need to know. Your sentence will depend on the seriousness of your crime and you can be arrested for more than one crime, with all the days adding up to one total.
If you get more than ten days, you can consider it game over.
There isn't much to do in your cell. You have a radio, a TV with a bad program and that's it. You can go to bed and sleep, but that's it. You might be thinking about starting a new game.
Use MWC CheatBox
Okay, so if you've been playing for a while and have made a lot of progress that you don't want to lose, don't worry, there is another solution: mods. Install the MWC CheatBox mod and you'll have a setup that lets you jailbreak instantly.
My Winter Car: How to add your own music
There's nothing better than listening to your favorite songs while driving.
