There are many occasions where players have a choice in how to respond to an NPC Pokemon Scarlet & Violetwith the vast majority having no real effect on the main story. However, how Pokemon players will take the last few steps on their journey to becoming a champion, they will be interrogated by one of the elite four and will have to answer all the questions correctly to avoid failing the champion rating.
The best Pokemon Scarlet & Violet progression order
Despite allowing players to earn badges in any order, Pokemon Scarlet & Violet's lack of level scaling means that there is still a best badge order.
Some of the ten questions that Rika asks during the Winners' Victory Walk evaluation have multiple correct answers, but most do not. The correct answers to some questions are tied to the players' previous answers, so it pays to remember which answers were chosen. Answering a question with the wrong answer will result in players failing the rating and having to start from the very beginning, so it's important Pokemon Scarlet & Violet players to understand the best answers to Rik's questions if they hope to pass the champion rating on the first question.

What happens if you fail the champion rating?
If players answer any of Rick's questions incorrectly, they will fail the assessment and be asked to leave. However, they will be able to retake the test as many times as they want until they pass it, so failure will have no long-term consequences. In fact, the only incentive for the first playthrough (besides the time it saves, of course) is a unique line of dialogue in which Rika points out that players passed on their first try and are the first person to do so since Nemona.
Leaders and types of gyms
With three of the ten questions in Victory Road's champion rating centering around each gym's leader and the Pokemon they use, some players could use a little refresher. The table below lists each gym, as well as the leader and type of Pokémon they specialize in. It doesn't matter which gym players choose when answering question five, but the gym leader and the type they choose in questions six and seven will need to match if they are to avoid failure.
