The Adventures Of Elliot: The Millennium Tales is a sprawling adventure that throws a lot at you at once, and its best tools and upgrades aren't always the ones it directs you to. Time traveling across its various ages unlocks new abilities, hidden collectibles, and side content that can quietly disappear if you're not paying attention, making it truly valuable to know where to spend your morning hours.

Whether you're a finalist chasing every chest or just want to keep the fight from feeling like a hassle, a few early decisions go a long way. Here are some beginner tips to get you set up before the game's deeper systems open up.

Grab the Boomerang AND Flutterer's Cape

Save and buy both before you even enter the Time Gate. The Boomerang is the first ranged weapon you can get your hands on that instantly expands your options in combat.

The Flutterer's Cape however, there is a real prize: a high-end accessory that lets you glide through the air. It trivializes the vast amount of platforming sections throughout the game, and having it right from the start will save you a lot of grief.

Always check your map

Yours A map is completion's best friend. It will tell you how much at the start unopened chests stay in your current position, which is quite practical in itself.

Stick with it, though, and you'll eventually unlock far more accurate indicators to direct you to exactly where things are hiding – such as weapon upgrades and cats. Get in the habit of opening it often, otherwise the game will rarely mark you with optional rewards.

Don't leave side quests in your journal. Many of them carry hidden time limits and disappear once your story passes a certain point, so a quest you ignore now may be gone forever later.

Most also come with really useful rewards, so it's worth doing them as soon as they appear.

Take Cat Collecting Seriously

You will be introduced to the idea fairly early in the game cat collectingsends the cats back to Huther. There's a lot more to collecting cats than the game lets on.

We won't spoil why, but consider it a priority rather than an idle distraction, because brushing it off is a mistake you may regret. Collect every cat you can.

Complete the Temple Of Trials challenges

The Temple of Trials challenges are worth your time. Clearing them will reward you additional slots for accessoriesand since add-ons are some of the most impressive enhancements in the game, each additional slot meaningfully expands what you can do. Don't miss them when you get the chance.

The all trials are combat focusedand some involve really complex environments or repeated boss fights, but all are manageable. Grab some healing potions and you should be fine!
