If you've logged into Fortnite at any point in the last 48 hours or so, there's a good chance you've seen a mass version of Ed by Ed, Edd n Eddy running around. That, or The Office's Michael Scott and Dwight Schrute, as they're the latest collaborations in the never-ending battle with live services.
Still, as cool as it is to see Dwight and his mustard yellow shirt team up with Goku and Butters, it's really Ed who's making the biggest waves, especially when it comes to memes.
For example, here's Ed pressing emote 6-7:
For what it's worth, 6-7 is exactly the kind of thing Eddy would hit if the show was still around.
Things don't end there, as the “Bet Your Sweet Bippy” meme is perhaps the one everyone is having the most fun with.
Then there's one social media user who went the extra mile, taking Ed's gameplay in Fortnite and combining it with the TV show's often weird and out-of-this-world sound effects.
Somehow it doesn't feel out of place in Fortnite.
If that wasn't hilarious enough, it's dawned on someone that the cutting edge animation powers of Nickelodeon and Cartoon Network can now be combined together. Specifically, pairing Ed with sidekick SpongeBob SquarePants, a duo that kids in the early 2000s wouldn't have imagined possible.
If there was a downside, it's the fact that Ed is the only representative from his show in the game. Still, fans have found some hope that this won't be the end for Ed, Edd n Eddy's collaboration.
It's Not An Ed, Edd n Eddy Collab without Eddy himself
As first shared on Twitter, Ed's outfit is said to be “part of the Ed, Edd n Eddy set” in the game. This gives hardcore fans some hope of seeing Eddy or Double D sometime in the future.
Ed as the first character makes a ton of sense since he's the most notable of the trio. But if neither Edd nor Eddy were planned, then it seemed like they should have been part of the original pack. Instead, Ed is a standalone roster member with Plank support and a Jawbreaker pickaxe.
In the end, only time will tell if the other Eds get into the game as well. If not, maybe as helpers? Either way, long live the memes.
