The 8 Strongest Super Saiyan God Versions, Ranked

Super Saiyan God changed everything for Goku when he unlocked it Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods. For the first time since the start of the Cell Saga, Goku was once again the strongest Z-Fighter. Not only that, gaining access to God Ki showed Goku that he still had new heights to reach in the multiverse as he proved that he wasn't even close to reaching his full power.

Super Saiyan God is the result of a Saiyan using Ki to transform into a God rather than their regular Saiyan Ki. Goku unlocked Super Saiyan God by performing the God Ritual, but it is possible for particularly powerful Saiyans to brutally trigger Super Saiyan God by training enough. Super Saiyan God – and its many variations – is one of the powerful forms of God Dragon Ball Superwhich offers specific transformation advantages over Super Saiyan Blue.

God's Crimson Radiance

Users: Goku

Because Goku performed the God Ritual to unlock the Super Saiyan God Battle of the Godshe only gained temporary access to the transformation. While fighting Beerus, the form eventually wears off and he depowers back to Super Saiyan without realizing it. This means that Goku's body has adapted to the Super Saiyan God well enough where his base power level naturally increased just by being exposed to the Ki God.

God's Crimson Radiance is a version of Super Saiyan God where the user is able to summon some natural God power just by using a basic Super Saiyan transformation. Technically, every time Goku goes Super Saiyan 1 in Dragon Ball Super after Battle of the Godsuses God's Crimson Radiance.

Ritual Super Saiyan God

Users: Goku, Yamoshi

By gathering six pure-hearted Saiyans, five of them can perform the God Ritual and give the sixth Saiyan a massive power boost, allowing them to unlock the Super Saiyan God. The Super Saiyan god ritual version is only a temporary transformation that wears off if the Saiyan using it fights for too long. This is what happened to Yamoshi in the past and Goku during Battle of the Gods.

Ritual Super Saiyan God is the weakest version of SSG after God's Crimson Radiance, although that is to be expected. The ritual version of the Super Saiyan God is just an entry point into the form, just like the Ki God. Once a Saiyan has mastered how to use God Ki in his base state, it is possible to unlock a more powerful version of Super Saiyan God, which can be launched at will, just like any other Super Saiyan form.

Saiyan Beyond God

Users: Goku, Vegeta

Saiyan Beyond God is an offshoot of Super Saiyan God that allows the user to utilize the full power of the SSG without actually needing to transform. Saiyan Beyond God is canon only for Dragon Ball Z films and was reattached by the company Dragon Ball Super anime and manga, where Goku and Vegeta have yet to transform into Super Saiyan God in order to use his full power.

Training together on Whis' planet, Goku and Vegeta eventually master the Ki God and absorb all of the Super Saiyan God's latent power into their base forms. IN Dragon Ball Super continuity, duo simply increase your base power level instead of absorbing SSG's power into your bodies. Unlike God's Crimson Radiance, which is a functionally stronger version of SSJ, the Saiyan Beyond God has a white aura and does not alter the user's physical appearance.

Super Saiyan God

Users: Goku, Vegeta, Shallot, Giblet, Shallet

Once a Saiyan has performed a God Ritual, or found another way to unlock God Ki, they can train their bodies to transform into a Super Saiyan God whenever they want. Vegeta unlocks Super Saiyan God just by training hard enough on Beerus' Planet. Unlike Goku, he didn't need to perform a God Ritual to unlock the SSG. The biggest advantage of using Super Saiyan God over Super Saiyan Blue is the better stability of the Ki form.

IN Dragon Ball Super manga, Super Saiyan Blue can only be triggered once per fight before the user's power level is greatly reduced. In the Universe 6 tournament, Vegeta's power is reduced by 80% just by showing Cabba Super Saiyan Blue. Super Saiyan God is far more stable and can be used similarly to Kaioken, allowing the user to quickly launch Super Saiyan Blue for more powerful attacks without crippling the user's Ki and stamina.

Ultra Supervillain Super Saiyan God

Users: Vegeta

Ultra Supervillain is a dark form created by Fu in Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2which he uses to corrupt other fighters. In an alternate timeline where Vegeta performed a god ritual to fight Beerus Battle of the Gods instead of Goku, Fu infects Vegeta and turns him into an ultra supervillain super saiyan god.

Ultra Supervillain Super Saiyan God Vegeta has a purple and violet aura like Ultra Ego and surpasses all the Z-Fighters in his timeline. Ultra Supervillain Super Saiyan God Vegeta is only stopped because he recovers when he fights Super Saiyan God Goku. The power boost from Ultra Supervillain Super Saiyan God is also high enough for Vegeta to unlock Super Saiyan Blue faster than his main timeline counterpart.

Dark Super Saiyan God

Users: Giblet

Dark Ki was introduced in Dragon Ball Legends as a Ki type that can fully damage its user. Giblet is Shallot's twin brother and a powerful Ancient Saiyan who can transform into a Super Saiyan God. After being infected with Dark Ki, Giblet is able to take control of the dark energy and fuse it with the Super Saiyan God to become the Dark Super Saiyan God.

Dark Super Saiyan God is strong enough to fight on par with Super Saiyan Blue Kaoiken x20 Goku and defeat Son of Shenron – one of the strongest villains in Dragon Ball GT. Unlike the normal version of Super Saiyan God, Dark Super Saiyan God puts a heavy strain on the user's body and eventually breaks them down similar to Kaioken.

God Broly

Users: Broly (Dragon Ball Z)

God Broly is the main villain Dragon Ball Z: The Real 4-D in Super Tenkaichi Budokaiattractions at Universal Studios Japan. It was never revealed how DBZ version of Broly unlocked God Ki, but God Broly is an offshoot of Super Saiyan God that mixes Broly's Legendary Super Saiyan transformation with God Ki.

God Broly is strong enough to overpower Super Saiyan Blue Goku and Vegeta at the same time. God Broly is only defeated when Goku fuses with the literal audience to become Super Saiyan Blue God Fusion Goku. Power-wise, God Broly is stronger than Goku and Vegeta at the start of the Tournament of Power, but realistically they would lose to Ultra Instinct Sign and Super Saiyan Blue Evolved.

A true Ultra Instinct Super Saiyan God

Users: Goku

During the Granolah the Survivor Saga, Goku learns how to mix Ultra Instinct with his various Super Saiyan forms. Calming his nerves while fighting Granolah, Goku manages to trigger Ultra Instinct while also using Super Saiyan God. This is Goku's first step towards mastering True Ultra Instinct, a version of the UI that allows him to react and attack instinctively while utilizing his god form's power multipliers.

True Ultra Instinct Super Saiyan God is by far the strongest version of Super Saiyan God. Goku essentially gets two power-ups in one, allowing him to attack Granolah, who would otherwise kill him on the spot. Combining Ultra Instinct with SSG allows Goku to dodge faster than light attacks and defend himself with his own raw strength. However, at this point in the series, Goku has fully mastered Super Saiyan Blue and is quickly replacing TUISSG with True Ultra Instinct Super Saiyan Blue.
