The Nintendo Switch 2 had a decent 2025, at least for a new console that's still gaining momentum. We have some great first party titles and some solid ports; however, if all goes well, last year should only be a harbinger of better things to come. Although the year is still looming, there are already several interesting events upcoming Switch 2 games for 2026especially for the first quarter. While not full of first-party projects yet, the Switch 2 lineup has plenty of third-party offerings, including major titles that will be released simultaneously with other consoles.

Resident Evil, Mario Tennis, Dragon Quest and more
February 2026 is an all-around great month, and that includes the Switch 2. As for exclusives, Mario tennis fever is a relatively big deal, assuming anyone enjoys the franchise's sports games in general.
However, the more exciting releases are the third-party titles in particular Resident Evil Requiem. Besides being huge in a vacuum, the fact that Capcom's game will launch on Switch 2 is a real statement of intent. Resident Evil 7 and Village they're also getting Switch 2 ports, so people looking for a good scarecrow can be set for quite a while.
Dragon Quest 7 Reimagined, Reanimateand Yakuza Kiwami 3Remakes are also big business.

Pokemon Pokopia, Fatal Frame and more
Another pretty good month for Switch 2, March 2026 will be defined by several big titles including Pokemon Pokopia. A farming/lifestyle simulator set in the absurdly successful Game Freak universe, Popopia sounds like a dream game. If you want a creature collection JRPG, Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection should be a safe bet. Fatal Frame II: Crimson Butterfly Remake is also an exciting prospect.
Switch 2 games from April 2026
High On Life, Pragmata and more
Right now, April 2026 only has a handful of Switch 2 games, though the month will likely fill up with a few more in the coming weeks. Still, some big names are lined up for the month. Although debuting about two months after other systems, High on Life 2 is coming to Nintendo Switch 2 and hopefully it will be even better than its predecessor.
Yet, Pragmatics might be April's standout release, especially for anyone who gets excited when Capcom decides to get weird. A third-person action-adventure that seems to focus on hacking and puzzles along with shooting. Also, the protagonist's best weapon seems to be a little girl.

Because the Switch 2 is still so young and full of life, the future is bright and somewhat unfocused. We know some of big Switch 2 games which will launch within the next year or two, with games like Duskbloods likely to drop in 2026. However, there is still so much we don't know. When will the first one be proper? The Legend of Zelda arrive? How about 3D Mario? They will happen, but we don't know when or how.
