Power Rangers is an American adaptation of the Japanese Super Sentai series, a superhero Tokusatsu show. Due to Power RangersLots of promotional involvements, many iconic characters often get clever themed upgrades. While this is mostly the case with the Red Rangers, it is not mutually exclusive. Some Rangers achieve multiple forms simply because they change colors between seasonal iterations.

In addition to Mega Mode, almost every Samurai Ranger also has a Super Mode. However, Jayden Shiba's Red Samurai Guardian still has some exclusive transformations. He may not have the most powerful transformations of the Guardians of the Universe, but he certainly has the most.

The Guardians of the Universe have faced some terrifying foes throughout the franchise, but these are by far the most menacing.
In addition to Mega Mode and Super Mode, Shiba also has access to Super Mega Mode, Shark Attack Mode, and Shogun Mode. Many of these were simply created due to toy licensing deals, but provided a great deal of visual distinction. Many power-ups are used exclusively in Zord combat due to how unruly they would be to fight. However, many fans still agree that they are stunning to look at.

Carlos Vallerte brings the Black Ranger back into the fold

Carlos Vallerte is one of the few characters that changes colors. Most of the time the Green Ranger is there, the Black Ranger isn't. Vallerte has the distinction of serving as both a Green Turbo Ranger and a Black Space Ranger, making him one of the few characters to do so besides Tommy Oliver. This distinction ends up making the choice of color seem incredibly important in retrospect.
Vallerte is also one of the few rangers to be turned into a monster by the big bad of his series. He may not have had access to any fighters, but he is on some of what many consider to be the strongest Rangers teams. He has made several appearances since his tenure with the Guardians officially ended, but usually appears as a Black Universe Guardian. He can only dress in the auxiliary colors of the Space Rangers, but that doesn't make him any less important.

Casey Rhodes upgrades are epically styled
Power Rangers: Jungle Fury
Casey Rhodes is a Red Ranger from a smaller team of powerful martial arts-focused Space Rangers. Although Jungle Fury Ranger existed after Battlizers, his power-ups are decidedly different. The studio reportedly spent most of Battlizer's budget adding Ghost Rangers. Rhodes would still undergo incredible transformations in his time. His entire team can access Jungle Fury Master Mode, but only Casey can use Strike Rider.

There aren't too many Purple Power Rangers in the franchise, but these are the strongest of the bunch.
Rhodes' Strike Rider mode is only accessible when using a vehicle, but it brings some incredible visual differences. In addition to having a few more pieces of body armor, both his boots and gloves will receive significant upgrades. While this mod isn't canonically considered Battlizer, it works exactly the same way and many fans choose to use it.

Amelia Jones becomes team leader

Amelia Jones is one of the most interesting Power Rangers of the modern era. She's also one of the few women to ever take on the role of Red Ranger, and she does it incredibly well. She began her time in the Guardians of the Universe as Dino Fury the Pink Ranger, but switched to Dino Fury the Red Ranger after Zayto took a step back. Jones also becomes the Red Ranger of Space Fury, cementing her leadership of the team and role as Red Ranger.
As Jones remains one of only two female Red Rangers, the character has been under a lot of pressure. That said, Jones delivers beautifully, creating one of the most compelling Rangers in recent years. She remains one of the last Red Rangers to date and has quickly established herself as one of the most popular. She's also the only Ranger in history to transition from Pink to Red, which is incredibly cool.

Andros gets the very first fighter in the franchise
Power Rangers: Lost in Space

The space colony of Andros leads the Space Guardians of the Universe through his knowledge of the landscape. Andros is a favorite Red Ranger of many older fans and is even credited with saving the universe. He is also the first Red Ranger in history to receive the Battlizer. The design is definitely old and strongly reflects the area, but remains iconic due to the character that uses it. This means that the Battlizer canonically did quite poorly in battle.
The main benefit of Andros' power-ups is that they give him the ability to fly without a Zord. This might seem like an absolute advantage, but it also weighed heavily on him in battle. Andros would be wise to reserve the Battlizer for shipping purposes, more than anything else. Even without the upgrade, he remains one of the strongest older rangers.

Nick Russell enhances his abilities with powerful fire magic
Power Rangers: Mystic Force
Nick Russell has access to one ability that many rangers don't; magic. Power Rangers: Mystic Force is an extremely creative fantasy series with many interesting differences from the normal franchise. In addition to many fighters, Nick also has the advantage of using magic to enhance his abilities. Still, his Battlizer remains his most iconic transformations of the season.

Both Red Legend Warrior and Dragon Fire Ranger are exceptionally powerful and visually striking. Although every Ranger has access to the Legend Warrior form, the Dragon form is exclusive to the Red Ranger. Power Rangers: Mystic Force it has some of the greatest aesthetics in the franchise, and Nick's various power-ups are perfect examples. Mystic Red Ranger would also fall under a similar curse to his father Leanbow, becoming the second wolf knight in the iteration.

Sky Tate eventually becomes the SPD Deka Ranger

Sky Tate might be a Blue Ranger of the SPD, but he's always dreamed of being a Red Ranger, and finally gets his wish after Anubis Kruger receives a promotion. Although most of his other forms are reserved for comics, they are understandably iconic. Tate also has access to the SPD Swat power-up, which is visually iconic. He can only use the form as a Blue Ranger, but it's assumed that the activation will be accessible once he transitions to Team Leader.
Tate's Deka Ranger design is one of the coolest editions the comic has ever featured. Many fans are desperate for the form to make it into the visual cannon, which would be possible after the reboot. Tate is one of the comic's most distinctive characters Dragon soul story, so if it's ever adapted into live action, now the SPD Earth Base Commander is sure to make an appearance.

Zayto easily has the most forms of any modern Power Ranger. After his eventual death, he even decides to become part of the morphing grid. During his time with the Rangers, he served as Dino Fury Red Ranger, Pink Ranger, Zenith Ranger, as well as Cosmic Zenith Ranger and Morphin Master. That's enough roles to put the iconic Tommy Oliver to shame. In addition to his many positions, Zayton also has access to every power-up that the Dino Fury and Cosmic Fury Rangers receive.

Jason Lee Scott is the original Mighty Morphin Red Ranger and one of the first Rangers to leave and then return. However, he actually only appears in the early seasons of the show. This means that the Cosmic series received a more Jason-centric cameo, signaling that he might make a more specific return in the future. However, Jason's status as both a Red and a Golden Ranger is no less iconic. He has also shown the ability to summon the Dragon Shield after the powers are transferred from Tommy Oliver.
Few Rangers are held in as high a regard as Scott, and he is one of two characters that fans usually declare to be the best Ranger of all time. However, when it comes to the amount of forms the character possesses and how well he uses them, his main rival is sure to beat him. Tommy Oliver has several iconic appearances, but his first remains the most popular
The mighty morphine Guardians of the Universe
Tommy Oliver is the longest serving Space Ranger of all time. It makes sense that he would have more Ranger forms than most, but he's also appeared in more episodes than any other Ranger with over 200 credited appearances. He went from the Green and White Mighty Morphin Rangers to the Red Zeo Ranger and finally the Black DIno Thunder Ranger. During this time he spent an incredible amount of time defending the earth and maintaining the morphing grid.
If anyone understands what it means to take on different roles in a team, it's Tommy Oliver. He was a leader, second in command, mentor and everything in between. His diverse experience across the franchise is simply unmatched. He is also one of the most competent fighters in the series, which is strongly supported by his access to many transformations. In the end, no other Ranger handled the morphine grid like Tommy Oliver.
