Resident Evil 5 remake leaked by ESRB
On February 10, a listing for the Entertainment Software Ratings Board was discovered Resident Evil 5 on Xbox Series X/S. Although the original game is available for Xbox Series X/S through backwards compatibility, there is no native version of the game for that system. While most of the game list is a standard description of what qualifies Resident Evil 5 for adult ratings, a special feature is the mention of in-game purchases. While the original Resident Evil 5 has had additional purchases in the form of DLC since release Resident Evil 5 Gold Editionthese were part of the base game. Other Resident Evil the remake also included microtransactions, which lends further credence to the notion that this rating is for a full remake Resident Evil 5.
Although some leaks hinted at it Code Veronica is next on the remake list, there are other indications that Resident Evil 5 maybe he crossed the line. The actor who portrayed the voice and movement Resident Evil 5 actress Sheva Alomar, Eva La Dare, teased on Twitter that something exciting is coming in March that she can't talk about yet, using a number Resident Evil hashtags in the tweet, including one for RE 5 and others referring to Resident Evil30th anniversary. Sheva has apparently not appeared in the game since Resident Evil 5. However, it is worth noting that earlier Resident Evil the remakes did not bring back the original cast, so if they do return, Sheva would be the first exception to the rule.
Although only a listing for the Xbox version has been found so far, the remake would most likely be released for PlayStation and PC as well. The PlayStation State of Play was announced for February 12, which could potentially reveal a Resident Evil 5 remake. Players may not have to wait long to find out, but they should take this leak with a grain of salt. Resident Evil 5 in particular, it has a mixed reputation. While many fans loved playing with a co-op partner, the original partner AI received a lot of negative feedback. There was also controversy surrounding the setting of Africa and the enemies fought there. Some effort will likely be made to convince players that issues they remember with the game have been fixed or modified, and Resident Evil 5 considering it's a major franchise entry, it's highly unlikely that the remake will fall into the shadows. Even if the upcoming State of Play reveals the remake, it may take some time before it actually reaches players.
