2026 seems to have started the new year with a consistent pattern PS Plussome of which are apparently carried over from late 2025 Base level PS Plusoften known as free games, it was a combination of mid-range games, while PS Plus Extra games are forced to carry a month. PS Plus Premium continues to be the black sheep of the family, receiving fewer games than the other services, and another PS Plus Premium game is already starting to take off.
PlayStation State of Play has revealed several PS Plus games coming to the service over the next few months. PS Plus Essential will get A big walk sometime this year. PS Plus Premium accepted Disney Pixar Wall-E in February and gets Tekken: Dark Resurrection in March too Time crunch in May. More PS Plus games for February 2026 have also been confirmed Echoes of the End, Marvel's Spider-Man 2, Monster Hunter Stories (1+2), Neva, Rugby 25, Season: Letter to the Future, Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crownand Outside.
PS Plus Premium subscribers are unhappy with Tekken: Dark Resurrection
One glance is enough to see the shift in quantity, but quality sometimes requires a deeper examination. Fighting game fans have noticed that the PS Plus Premium version Tekken: Dark Resurrection is specifically the PSP version of the game. It is unclear why Sony chose the PSP version when the PS2 version is considered superior by fans.

Fans wasted no time tearing up Tekken: Dark ResurrectionBesides PSP. “Please don't repeat T6 without multiplayer. That was stupid,” said one. Fans were quick to point out how much more simplistic the PSP version is, in addition to missing content such as vanilla Tekken 5 stages. The PSP version also has no versus mode and inferior graphics, which may mean Sony wants fans to get the best single player experience, but even that is up for debate. No game in the PS Plus Classics catalog has Online Play, so that might explain this choice, but any good fighting game is inherently about multiplayer. And that's what the PS2 version could offer.
All in all, fans are not impressed with this single game. And the reality is that while PS Plus Essential and Extra games can get by with a few weak ones because they offer a handful, PS Plus Premium doesn't. Sometimes PS Plus Premium only adds 1 game to the Classics catalog and fans probably know one game for May. Of course, things could change before May rolls around, but fans will have to wait and see.
The reveal and release pattern of PS Plus holds firm
While the reveal was slightly delayed by the state of the game, PS Plus Extra and Premium games for February 2026 were added on time on February 17th. This means fans know that the free PS Plus games for March will be revealed on February 25, barring any end-of-the-month teases, before being added in early March, with Extra and Premium games coming later in March. The State of Play also suggests that PS Plus Premium will not be added in April.
Right now, the only game known is for March Tekken: Dark Resurrection. It may not be the most attractive title, but hopefully the others will make up for it in March. I don't know if I'd rely on PS Plus free games for March for that, but PS Plus Extra games for March 2026 probably will (again).
