Game Freak shared some more details about Pokemon winds and waves starters, formatted in the style of Pokedex items. The information does add some idiosyncrasies to the recently revealed trio, but it doesn't address the broader questions surrounding it Pokemon winds and waves'starter mons.

Pokemon winds and waves were formally announced during the February 27th Pokemon Presents commemorating the 30th anniversary of the long-running monster-catching franchise. Between them are a trio of info panels, one for each starter Pokémon in the Gen 10 games. The panels confirm that Browt and Gecqua are both 1 foot tall, while describing Pombon as slightly taller at 1 foot 4 inches.

Browt's featured ability is Overgrow, a starter Pokemon's long-term ability that supports Grass-type attacks when the user is in distress, specifically when its HP drops below one-third of its maximum. In practice, this means that late-game turns are more dangerous to opponents if Browt is still standing and able to fire off Grass-type moves. Pombon, meanwhile, has Blaze, which is basically Overgrow for Fire-type moves, increasing their power once their HP drops below one-third. Similarly, Gecqua has its own movement booster in the form of Torrent.

With Overgrow, Blaze and Torrent were confirmed as a part Pokemon winds and waves Starter Arsenal, Generation 10 games seem to stick to the traditional first partner mons core set. This direction suggests that their early balance will also be close to past generations, at least until evolution, hidden abilities, and potential new mechanics begin to reshape starter roles.
