According to reliable sources, Xbox Game Studios and Bethesda open-world sci-fi game Star field coming to PS5 consoles in April. Fans can expect to hear more about this release later this month, but suffice it to say this Star field messages come from a trusted source.
The timing here is unusual, to say the least. Star field coming to PS5 opens the door The Elder Scrolls 6or other massive Bethesda games that fans believed would be console exclusives for Xbox (and available on PC), signaling a massive third-party move. Of course, Xbox has already released several games on PS5, but the fact that Star field is another telling one. The news also comes at a time when many Xbox fans are clamoring for new CEO Asha Sharma to once again give exclusivity to the console. It's an interesting time in the PS5/Xbox Series X competition, that's for sure.
'Hear You': New Xbox CEO responds to calls to make games exclusive again
New manager Asha Sharma has begun to address long-term community feedback and suggested a possible change in how the brand plans to grow.
Billbil-kun, who works for Dealabs Magazine with a proven history of PS Plus leaks, mobile device leaks and more, confirmed this information. There will be a physical and digital edition of the game available for release on April 7, 2026. There will also be a standard and premium edition of the game Star field for PS5 owners, with the latter providing early access. Otherwise, the content of the Premium edition is not yet known. It will also be launched at a significant discount.

Billbil-kun is also expecting pre-orders for the PS5 version Star field open on March 18th, if not a little earlier on the evening of March 17th. The news comes after Bethesda's Todd Howard squashed rumors of Star fieldA 2.0 update is expected, but an expansion may be released alongside this PS5 port. That would be best for PS5 and Xbox players, especially since Howard said he'll have news to share Star field early at that time. I think this is a novelty.
While Star field isn't Bethesda's most popular game, it's worth repeating that this signals a massive third-party move for Xbox – even more so than before. Obviously, this release would be scheduled before CEO Ash Sharma takes over after Phil Spencer retires, but that just signals the shift even further. If a massive RPG from Bethesda Game Studios is coming to PS5, based on the previously announced “case by case” by Xbox, then there's almost no reason for the other games to remain exclusive.
How Sharma will react to the console exclusivity debate remains to be seen, especially with Xbox under the thumb of Activision-Blizzard and Bethesda/Zenimax, but the news is now clear. The console war is dead and may never come back. Hell has frozen over. Almost every previous or future Xbox exclusive (that was already available on PC) will have an open door for the PlayStation 5 console and its install base.
