Season 28 Apex Legendsknown as Breach, began on February 10th and introduced Hardlight along with major changes to some Legends, including a rework of Fuse. Despite these strengths, some players feel that the final season lacks content, as no new legends or major map changes were introduced. While Respawn Entertainment shares a plan for Apex Legends outlining some of her plans for the rest of 2026 and early 2027, many were hoping for more content sooner rather than later. Although not what some might have in mind, Battle Royale is at least hosting a new event soon.

The Apex Legends x Gundam event starts on March 10th
As Season 28 continues, Respawn has revealed the Apex Legends x Gundam event. The upcoming event starts on March 10 and includes a Wildcard takeover of the game mode, adding abilities and more themed around the popular anime franchise. Specifically, this new limited-time version of the mode takes place on Broken Moon. However, the landscape has been changed for this event, and the map now features destroyed mobile suits, Wing Gundam statues, and ships fighting in the sky. In addition to scenery changes, the iconic Buster Rifle can be found in care packs, giving the user powerful abilities such as the ability to shoot laser beams that penetrate cover. Bit Staves can also be used to gain the upper hand in battle.

It should be noted that Gundam the event adds some new wild cards to the mix. These include Epyon's Lash, Heavyarms Salvo, Zero Sacrifice, and Zero Rebirth. Each of these new abilities is themed around Gundam franchise and should help make the already chaotic game mode even more exciting. Notably, Zero Rebirth gives players a second chance after being knocked down by sending them into the void and back into battle with 1HP, along with temporary invulnerability and health regeneration.

- Epyon's Lash: Adds melee magnetic pull, tactical abilities, and more.
- Heavy Weapons Salvo: Marks enemies for air support missile strikes after landing multiple hits.
- Zero Sacrifice: Adds the ability to trigger a self-destruct explosion on knock and take nearby enemies with it.
- Zero Rebirth: Enter the Void after tapping, then exit with 1 HP, temporary invulnerability, and health regeneration.
In addition to the redesigned Wildcard mode, Gundam the event will introduce some new cosmetics for some characters Apex Legends. While not every Legend will get a skin, eight of them will Gundam treatment. These include Alter, Conduit, Crypto, Gibraltar, Mirage, Octane, Revenant and Valkyrie. According to Respawn, the skins were “tailored to the personality, playstyle and lore of Legends”. In addition, the developer noted that players can obtain the Sparrow Skin inspired by Epic Char Aznable and other items in the Reward Shop for earning medals. Of course, it is also part of the event Gundam– weapon flavored skins and new Mythics: Epyon Heat Rod and Beam Sabre.

Along with the content in the game is Gundam crossover also applies to physical goods. To celebrate the collaboration, Bandai Namco will release three limited editions Apex Legends– inspired model kits (GUNPLA). These models are themed around Crypto, Valkyrie and Alter. Merchandise pre-orders begin on March 18th at the Apex Legends Shop and PREMIUM BANDAI.
Hopefully, this upcoming crossover can bring some new excitement Apex Legendsbecause Battle Royale looks set to stay relevant. It's worth noting that this event comes shortly after Apex Legends Octane nervous again. The developer continues to tweak the hero meta in season 28 to find a balance that satisfies the community. Time will tell what other changes will come in the coming weeks Gundam– thematic event.
