Arrowhead Game Studios CEO Shams Jorjani seems to have taken some epic action Helldivers 2 a challenge that requires defeating Oshaun on the hardest difficulty. Despite all the criticism the live-action shooter has received since launch, the team behind it has remained actively involved in the community, often asking questions and responding to fan requests. Now, Helldivers 2 the boss attempts a challenge that could result in a big statement about the game's balance.
During the last two years Helldivers 2 has a complex relationship with difficulty, with developers wanting new ways to keep the game engaging, but fans taking issue with some of their solutions. While the game has faced plenty of other, more pressing criticisms to address, the balance conversation always seems to be going on in the background. Now, it's evident that the topic is important enough to some fans that at least one is putting their money where their mouth is, urging Arrowhead to try things out for themselves.
The CEO of Helldivers 2 wants one major change to the armor system
Arrowhead Game Studios CEO Shams Jorjani points out a major change he'd like to see in Helldivers 2's armor system.
Arrowhead CEO Seemingly Attempts Helldiver 2 Fan's $1,000 Challenge
A recent post by Redditor Key_Complex_150 challenged any four Arrowhead developers to complete the entire operation on Oshaune on difficulty 10 and rewarded them with a $1,000 donation to any charity, and now Redditors have spotted Jorjani seemingly taking over. The CEO published regularly Helldivers 2The official Discord server about the challenge and its progress so far. So far it doesn't look like he's finished it as he mentioned that he finished it at level 7 and is now moving to level 8. How will he do in the hardest Helldivers 2The 10 difficulty levels are still unclear, as is whether Jorjani will team up with other developers, which was another of Key_Complex_150's conditions.

So far, it looks like Jorjani can train before taking on the challenge fully. The original post required the developers to upload a video of them performing the feat without any modifications as proof, and Jorjani has only updated the Discord community so far. Even if the CEO doesn't end up meeting all the demands, it's a fun experiment, especially in light of how Jorjani expressed his desire to push Helldivers 2troubles in the past. Key_Complex_150 stated that their challenge is to show “how well balanced the game is”, so if the developers can't finish it, it could theoretically provide evidence that the current approach to difficulty is missing the mark. On the other hand, it could also just prove that level 10 is very hard.
As significant as the game's difficulty is, Arrowhead has said in the past that it's not its main goal. in 2025 Helldivers 2'The creative director said that game designers should prioritize fun over balance, arguing that too many developers spend too much time obsessing over balance rather than creating an engaging and functional game. However, he also went on to say that balance should follow as part of the polishing phase of development, which is where Helldivers 2 drops, now that more than two years have passed since its release.
Regardless of the outcome of this challenge, it can be an encouraging sign to see the team playing game after game. Experiencing things first hand and actively communicating with the fan base could help Arrowhead deal with this Helldiver 2's extreme highs and lows by putting the developers in the shoes of the players. If nothing else, some users were amused by how Jorjani took off his CEO hat for a while and became just another Helldivers 2 players, with some commenting that they have encountered him in the game, even killed him by mistake. What will come of all this is still uncertain, but it's fun to watch, to say the least.
