One Piece: 6 Most Inflated Rewards

The concept of rewards is definitely one of the most interesting things One piece. The bounty essentially shows how much of a threat an individual, whether a pirate or any other criminal, is to the world government. It doesn't necessarily indicate the level of strength the individual has, but it's safe to assume that a higher reward means the individual is at least strong.

While most high bounties mean high power levels, there are some bounties that are inflated for one reason or another. These are rewards that in some cases can be called undeserved and in others are an inaccurate representation of the strength that an individual has.

Crocodile

• Reward: 1.965 billion berries

Crocodile is one of the former Shichibukai who served as the primary antagonist of the Arabasta arc of the series. After a two-year timeskip, he came and is now a member of the Cross Guild. It was recently revealed to have a bounty of 1.965 billion berries. This is clearly a huge payoff, and fans know that the Crocodile is also a dangerous villain.

In fact, we can be sure that Crocodile has strengthened considerably over the years. As such, there's no question at all that he deserves a bounty of over a billion berries, especially considering the growth he'd show during the 2-year time jump. However, just by being associated with the Guild of the Cross by definition, his reward increases. The Cross guild gets high rewards because they list bounties on the heads of the navy itself. This is a crime in direct opposition to the World Government and as such any individual associated with the Guild of the Cross will receive a greater reward than they deserve.

Dracula Mihawk

• Reward: 3.590 billion berries

Like Crocodile, Dracule Mihawk is a former member of the Shichibukai and even participated in the Paramount War on the side of the World Government. It also has a very high reward now. In his case, the reward is 3.590 billion berries, which is very high and in the same league as that of the Yonko world of the One Piece. Dracula Mihawk's reward is also inflated. That certainly doesn't mean that Mihawk isn't on par with Yonko, or doesn't have enough power to back up this bounty.

It simply means that Mihawk, in conjunction with the Cross Guild, is considered a direct threat to the World Government due to the Navy's hunting related criminal activities, and for that reason has been given a higher reward to represent the level of danger he poses. Still, fans know that Mihawk is an individual who is extremely powerful and definitely one of the strongest in the entire world at this point in the story.

Eustace Kid

• Bounty: 3 billion berries

Eustass Captain Kid is one of the worst generation pirates who recently received a bounty of 3 billion berries. It goes without saying that Kid is powerful; however, it is definitely not strong enough to merit the reward of 3 billion berries. To put this into perspective, Luffy also recently received a reward of 3 billion berries. There is absolutely no comparison between Luffy and Kid in terms of their achievements, power or even shame.

Kid had to team up with Law to defeat the Yonko, while Luffy was able to do it alone. The two aren't even close in terms of power, and their achievements in Wano, which weren't entirely clear to the world government due to the isolated nature of the country, led to his reward being so high. Kid doesn't deserve a number close to 3 billion berries and a reward of around 2 billion would be perfect for him.

Trafalgar Law

• Bounty: 3 billion berries

Like the Eustass Kid, Trafalgar Law also has a bounty of 3 billion berries. However, Law doesn't deserve such a high reward based on what he's accomplished so far in the series. 3 billion berries is a reward worthy of an emperor and Law is definitely not it. He had to team up with Kid to defeat Big Mom. Meanwhile, as stated above, Luffy managed to take down Kaido all by himself.

Luffy's performance was much better than Kid or Law and having the same reward as them just doesn't sit well with the fans. Law's reward should be somewhere close to 2 billion berries, but a reward of 3 billion definitely does not reflect his power.

Usopp

• Reward: 500 million berries

The Sniper of the Slam Hat Pirates, Usopp, is now considered an elite pirate as he has received a bounty of 500 million berries. Actually, Usopp doesn't deserve anything close to that number. He is one of the weakest members of the crew and is actually even below Chopper whose reward should be higher than his.

Yet Usopp always fails upwards. The World Government has a very different opinion of Usopp at this point in the story, and because of this and his fake achievements in Wano, he is given a bounty of 500 million berries. It's likely that Usopp's bounty will grow even further in the upcoming chapters of the manga as the straw pirates emerge from the Elbaf War.

Buggy

• Reward: 3.189 billion berries

Undoubtedly the most inflated reward in One piece belongs to Buggy the Clown. Buggy was recently made as a Yonko One pieceand has a reward of 3.189 million berries. This rise in his status came about due to a misunderstanding on the part of the World Government, who assumed that both Crocodile and Mihawk were working for him, giving him Yonka status and earning him a very high reward as well.

In addition, Buggy also has a connection to Shanks, who claims to be his sworn brother, and is a former member of the Roger Pirates. All of these things combined gave him a very high reward that he definitely doesn't deserve. Buggy is expected to grow even further in reward and influence as he battles other Emperors for the Road Poneglyphs. As it happens, he will most certainly receive higher rewards that he doesn't deserve, but Eiichiro Oda is definitely planning something big for him, which is pretty clear to see.
