Protect/Destroy 2 in Marathon is one of Portal's contracts that players can pick up through Midas faction. Like other missions in the Protect/Destroy chain, it must be completed in a single run; otherwise progress is reset. This contract has three goals, which include downloading the malware, submitting a dropship request, and uploading that malware to the ship.
The entire mission takes place in the western and southwestern areas MarathonMap of Dire Marsh. Although considered one of the simpler contracts in the series, the lack of map markers can still make targets confusing to locate.

How to complete Protect/Destroy 2 in Marathon
Downloading malware from the West Gate terminal
After spawning on the map, head towards West Gatewhich is located directly north of quarantine on the Dire Marsh map. Once there, search portera blue building whose main entrance cannot be opened.
Instead of trying to enter from the front, go around the building to find a ladder which leads to the roof. Climb up to find a side vent structures. Break the valve with a melee attack and climb inside to enter the building. From there, head down to the lower floor.
Pay attention to laser trip wires located throughout the interior. Running them will temporarily disable your ability regeneration, which can leave you vulnerable if enemies appear.
On first flooryou will find a NuCaloric red terminal inside the room to your right. Communicate with him download malwarethereby fulfilling the first objective of the contract.
Submitting a dropship request and uploading malware
After the second objective, head into the area south of the canal. Here you will find a small white building and you have to go to upper floor of this building and communicate with the terminal submit a dropship request. Once the request is sent, the dropship will fly in and land right outside.
Your next task is get on the ship and upload the malware. If you are using Thief Runner Shellthis step becomes easier because her Grapple Device allows quick access to higher platforms. Her Pickpocket Drone can also help scout the area for enemy players before committing to a charge.
If you are playing another Runner Shell, climb it roof of a white building and jump from there to the drop ship. Once at the top, interact with the upload point to complete the final objective. Be careful when climbing, e.g UESC enemies often patrol the areaand other runners may also be around when you do this phase of the contract.
After completing the mission, extract from all available Exfil point and return to Portal get the following rewards:
