With over a thousand anime episodes and manga chapters, One piece inevitably includes things that don't make perfect sense. When a story runs this long, a few inconsistencies and confusing details are bound to slip. After all, remembering and following every little detail in a long-running shonen series is not an easy task even for a genius mangaka like Eiichiro Oda.
7 Things One Piece Does Better Than Naruto
Years later, One Piece is still better than Naruto when it comes to these things.
One piece it may be a masterpiece but it's not a perfect series. Luffy's story comes with flaws like plot holes, moments that just don't add up and things that never made sense. Let's take a closer look at these things and try to make sense of them.
Lack of bounty hunters
One piece it's full of pirates with big bounties on their heads. Luffy is currently at 3 billion berries while most of his crew have bounties in the thousands and millions. Most of the famous pirates in the series also receive hefty rewards, from Luffy's allies and enemies to the other sea emperors.
Clearly, despite these incredible rewards, One piece rarely features bounty hunters, so Eiichiro Oda seems to be deliberately ignoring their existence. Perhaps the only known bounty hunters the series has introduced so far have been Zoro's former partners, Johnny and Yosaku of East Blue and the Franky Family of Water 7. Since then, no other bounty hunters have appeared in the series, suggesting that catching these pirates is impossible for them.
Pell's survival in Alubarna
Looking back, Pell made a heroic sacrifice in Alubarna to protect the kingdom of Alabasta by soaring through the sky with a massive cannonball to explode in his claws. With no time left, the bomb finally exploded, leaving fans in tears at Pell's tragic but heroic fate.
However, Pell miraculously survived the explosion without proper explanation. While the Kingdom of Alabasta mourned his death, even holding a funeral for him, his sudden appearance later was questioned by many fans. His survival turned out to be a last-minute change on Eiichiro Oda's part that ultimately weakened the impact of Pell's heroic act in the final moments of the Alabasta arc.

Miss Goldenweek's abilities
In Baroque Works, there was a young assassin who went by the name of Miss Goldenweek. She teamed up with Mr. 3 in the Little Garden arc, where she played with the Straw Pirates' personalities and emotions, especially Luffy. While her special paint was fascinating, her powers didn't make perfect sense.
After all, Miss Goldenweek doesn't even have devil fruit, yet she could manipulate colors to evoke emotions and trigger complex effects. Although the series reveals her as a hypnotist, the mechanics of her special ability remain unclear, leaving many fans questioning how her special color could have such varied effects.
Chopper's Pet Status
Tony Tony Chopper has been going on adventures with the Straw Hat Pirates for quite some time now, but his status as the pet of the pirate crew remains unchanged. The world government and the general public still consider Chopper a less harmful member of Luffy's crew, just because he looks like a harmless reindeer.
The problem is, Chopper has proven time and time again that he is much more than just a cute mascot. Whenever he consumes a Rumble Ball, he becomes a capable fighter with the many transformations at his disposal. Unfortunately, even after defeating powerful enemies One piecethe authorities do not recognize him as a real threat. Although his reward has increased, the amount remains ridiculously low compared to other Straw Hat members.
Don Krieg's Grand Departure
It is difficult to enter the Grand Line as most ships often cannot pass the Reverse Mountain. As shown in the anime and manga, the Straw Hats saw some shipwrecks that tried to cross in front of them. While most fans are aware of this crucial information, leaving or leaving the Grand Line has never been shown or talked about in great detail.
This made the Don Krieg experience even more interesting. After all, Don Krieg and his remaining crew returned to East Blue from the Grand Line after Mihawk Dracule decimated much of his fleet.
Their return was an extraordinary event, as getting off the Grand Line without a ship covered in sea rocks and with Sea Kings lurking in the Quiet Belt is a seemingly impossible feat, but somehow Don Krieg survived it all and made it back to East Blue intact.
Sanji points his gun at Robin
One of the first inconsistencies in Sanji's character is his hostile reaction to Nico Robin when she first appears before the Straw Pirates on their way to the Little Garden. When Robin appeared, Sanji quickly reacted with apparent aggression and without hesitation pointed a gun at her face, much to the surprise of the fans.
This is the Sanji introduced in the series as a man who avoids violence against women at all costs. However, his hostility towards Robin blatantly rejects a major aspect of his character. Even though this is a one-off thing, it still stands out as an early inconsistency in his characterization.
Portgas D. Rouge postpones Ace's birth
The Pirate King, Gol D. Roger, had an intimate relationship with Portgas D. Rouge, which resulted in the birth of their son, Portgas D. Ace. Although well known to fans, the circumstances surrounding Rogue's pregnancy were far from ordinary.
Driven by sheer determination, Rouge delays childbirth to protect Ace at all costs. That's inspiring, but for an ordinary woman with no special powers, Rouge shouldn't be able to put off giving birth for so long. In fact, she carried Ace in her womb for 20 months, well beyond the natural limits of human pregnancy.
The milk restored Luffy's broken tooth and Brook's cracked skull
One of the funniest things that doesn't make sense One piece happened when Luffy and Brook were drinking milk together. The milk is just plain milk in a carton, yet it worked wonders with these two characters.
After drinking the milk, Luffy's tooth suddenly grew back to its original state, while Brook's cracked skull also instantly healed. It's almost as if it works like a charm, fans theorize that the milk contains a high amount of calcium that somehow speeds up Luffy and Brook's regeneration.
