Current status for June 2026 Wish list

PlayStation fans have a lot to look forward to as Sony recently confirmed that the next State of Play showcase will be held soon. PlayStation State of Play events offer updates to expected games, but often bring great surprises as well. Not every State of Play show comes with surprises, but a recent rumor has many predicting that the company has a few secrets up its sleeve.

There's really no way to know for sure what games will be present at the next Sony State of Play, but there are a few key titles that are expected. Aside from the obvious contenders, there are rumors of projects and anticipated remakes that keep players asking what summer announcements might be on the horizon. Summer has traditionally been one of the key seasons for reveals, and the upcoming State of Play will hopefully continue that trend showcase airs June 2 at 2:00 PM PT/ 5:00 PM ET.

The participation of these games on Sony's June game status is a given

  • Marvel's Wolverine (CONFIRMED)
  • Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls
  • Marathon season 2
  • Ken: Scars of Kosmora
  • Gathering of Horizon Hunters

These five titles feel like the most likely contenders for a launch during the current state. Marvel's Wolverine is one of Sony's biggest exclusive releases planned for this year, and developer Insomniac showing more has already been confirmed. Earlier this year, Insomniac finally confirmed a Marvel's Wolverine release date and eager players will hopefully get deeper into the game. The year 2026 actually brings a double dose of Marvel, just in different genres. Those who stick more to the fighting genre have Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls look forward to. With this stylish fighting title scheduled for release on August 6th, it wouldn't be surprising to see more from the game.

The main reason that Marathon it seems a given that the game's second season will launch on June 2nd, the same day as the state of the game. Marathon Season 2 is a big moment for the extraction shooter. Bungie's long-awaited game didn't garner as much attention as last year's extraction shooter hit ARC Raidersbut this next chapter will hopefully open the door for more players.

Weeks of rumors could finally be put to rest with these games

  • God of WarFaye spin-off
  • Inglorious remake
  • A pirate game from FromSoftware

Rumors of another God of War games have been around for a few years now, but this year brought a few new ones that claim the next game will actually be led by Faye. Rumors have claimed that Tyr will also play a role in the story, and other mythologies such as the Japanese and Mesoamerican pantheons may appear. These were really bold statements that don't have much evidence behind them, but it would be huge if Santa Monica Studio could prove them at State of Play.

Two other recent rumors have gotten players very interested. He claims that an Inglorious a remake is in the works and FromSoftware's secret pirate game could be on the way, it was really convincing. FromSoftware currently has its exclusive for Nintendo Duskbloods in the line, but a rumored pirated game exclusive to Sony wouldn't be too surprising. Soul of Demons and Bloody were a Sony exclusive, so FromSoftware could easily make a similar deal with a pirated game. That is, if the pirated game even exists.

These June state of play games may be dreams, but nothing is impossible

  • Intergalactic: The Heretical Prophet
  • Uncharted 5
  • Bloody remake
  • Silent Hill 1 remake

If any of these games are present in the game state, more than likely they will be Intergalactic: The Heretical Prophet. The only reason it's a bit dubious is because actor Kumail Nanjiani recently said so in an interview Intergalactic: The Heretical ProphetThe release date will not be before 2028 or later. He plays Colin Graves in the game, and while that doesn't mean he has a ton of information on release plans, it's possible he at least knows the general timeline. If the game doesn't come out until 2028, revealing a second trailer so soon might be too far ahead of things. It's still entirely possible that Nanjiani is wrong and Naughty Dog could actually be looking at a 2027 launch. That would make a new State of Play trailer more likely, but only time will tell.

Speaking of Naughty Dog, there were even rumors that the developer was working on it Uncharted 5. Insider Gaming's Tom Henderson even went so far as to claim that Naughty Dog was developing Uncharted 5 before the COVID-19 pandemic. If the studio really worked on the project for so long, it could theoretically be revealed at the showcase. However, fans should keep their expectations low.

Check out the upcoming Bloober Team Silent Hill 1 remake or a Bloody A remake announcement would be pretty cool too. The latter has been requested for a long time, but this seems to me the least likely to ever happen. Playground for a Bloody a remake by Bluepoint was even reportedly rejected by FromSoftware, so it doesn't look like it's going to happen anytime soon. AND Silent Hill 1 however, a remake teaser is much more feasible.

Xbox could have a small presence in this Sony-centric event

With the new leadership at Xbox, past plans to reject Xbox exclusive games seem to be on the back burner. However, there are a few titles that were confirmed for PS5 ports before Asha Sharma took over. Games like Fable and Halo: Campaign Evolved are two major Xbox franchises planning their PlayStation debuts. There is also a Forza Horizon 6 PS5 port on the way. The racing game skipped the PS5 at launch, but a port release date could be mentioned.

Xbox has its own show June 7th.

Also, no answer was given to the question whether Gears of War: E-Day will it come to ps5 or not It was the first time the franchise came to Sony's consoles since last year Gears of War: Reloadedthere are expectations Gears of War: E-Day on PS5. As Xbox rethinks its strategy, a PS5 version might not happen after all.
