Dragon Ball has a reputation for constantly raising the stakes and introducing transformation after transformation to the point that some fans may feel like it's a bit redundant. While we got a lot FROM, Cool he was able to completely surpass his predecessor.
Cool he's introduced a lot of different transformations over the years and there's probably more to come with the manga, hopefully he'll be back soon. Each new transformation the series has revealed has surpassed the last, and while they're all incredibly powerful compared to what we saw in the original series, there are a handful that really stand out.
Dragon Ball: The 9 Strongest Saiyans to Survive Planet Vegeta's Destruction, Ranked
The Saiyans who survived Planet Vegeta range wildly in Power Level, including some true weaklings and the strongest fighters in all of Dragon Ball.
Blue Evolved
The Tournament of Power brought out the best in almost everyone on Team Universe 7, forcing them to push their limits and overcome intense multiverse competition. While Goku, Frieza, and Andfroid 17 were very much the center of attention towards the end of the tournament, Vegeta also had his share of big moments.
Blue Evolved is a step up from regular Super Saiyan Blue and allows Vegeta to break through his limits and gain a massive power boost similar to Goku's Super Saiyan Blue Kaio-ken. The increase in strength doesn't come at the expense of speed or agility, and it also doesn't take away as much stamina, so it's an effective and reliable transformation that Vegeta would rely on until he unlocks Ultra Ego later in the series.
Orange piccolo
After spending years on the sidelines playing more of a supporting role, Piccolo finally got the massive power he so desperately needed. Piccolo is now one of the strongest mortal fighters in Universe 7 with his orange form, and can potentially match some of the more powerful foes the series throws at its main cast.
Piccolo's new upgrade gave him the ability to take on Cell Max, though even in his new form Piccolo still struggled. Despite the increase in power, the Bio-Android wasn't pushed back until Gohan pushed his own limits. Still, Orange Piccolo was strong enough to hold off Cell Max, so the power boost he receives in this form is significant enough to at least allow him to be competitive against all the incredibly powerful new villains that appear in the manga once he returns.
Legendary Super Saiyan
The regular Super Saiyan transformation was a no-brainer years ago, but Broly's unique version of the iconic power-up is different. Broly's legendary Super Saiyan transformation put him on par with Super Saiyan Blue when he was introduced and even allowed him to fight Golden Frieza for extended periods of time without breaking a sweat.
Broly's initial Legendary Super Saiyan transformation is presented as a powerful but difficult to control state in which Broly acts on his fighting instincts over anything else. However, once Cell Max is defeated and Gohan reaches his Beast form, Broly manages to reach a controlled state in his Super Saiyan form. We see that Broly is much more thoughtful in how he approaches battle here, though he still has a long way to go.
Ultra ego
Ultra Ego is currently Vegeta's strongest transformation, replacing Blue Evolved in battles against powerful opponents. With Vegeta using the power that the Destroyer Gods use, it's hard to imagine him finding anything stronger anytime soon.

The biggest thing that separates Ultra Ego from something like Ultra Instinct is how it feeds off of Vegeta's battle lust, allowing him to take damage and redirect it into powerful attacks. Since the form requires Vegeta to take heavy damage to be effective, it requires a lot of restraint on Vegeta's part to ensure he doesn't take any unnecessary hits in the heat of battle. Even with this drawback, Ultra Ego proved to be one of the strongest transformations in the series.
Perfect Ultra Instinct
One of the strongest transformations introduced in CoolPerfected Ultra Instinct showed fans what Goku could really do after years and years of training and improving his skills. What really makes the transformation stand out isn't the incredible power boost it gives the user (although that is significant), but instead it's Ultra Instinct's amazing evasion abilities that make this one of the hardest transformations.
That's not to say that transformation doesn't come with its downsides. This was by far the most difficult transformation for Goku to master, and can be incredibly taxing on the user, taking a lot of stamina and making long-term conflicts difficult. Goklu can still improve his control of Ultra Instinct, so we can expect him to be more comfortable with it and even more effective than he was when the series returns.
Black Frieza
Fans held their breath Cool manga return for what feels like forever. A big reason why the return of the series is so highly anticipated has to do with the massive cliffhanger that revealed Frieza's new form; Black Frieza.
We don't know much about Frieza's new power-up, but what we do know about him makes him one of the scariest forms of villain the series has ever released. Frieza surpassed his golden form by training in a hyperbolic time chamber different from the one on Earth. This made him exponentially stronger and he was able to take out battered Gas with ease while taking out UI Goku and UE Vegeta in one hit. We can be sure that Frieza will play a huge role in the manga once he returns.
Beast
There is a lot of debate about who is the strongest mortal fighter at the moment Dragon Ball Super right now. While Goku, Vegeta, Broly, Piccolo and Frieza make a solid case, Gohan's new Beast transformation could make him the strongest in the universe.
It will be interesting to see how the manga handles things post-Granola, as Gohan getting the Beast transformation may not be in line with a potential matchup with Black Frieza in the series timeline. If we were to see Gohan Beast and Black Frieza square off, it would be a huge matchup and some think Gohan might win. As it stands, it looks like Gohan is once again one of the strongest in the universe, but who knows how long that will last.
