A parched wasteland in Pokemon Pokopia is home to one very stubborn water wheel puzzle that tends to stop a few in their tracks. At first glance, it looks like something you should be able to fix on the spot, but the game has other plans.
If you've been poking around trying to get it to work, you're definitely not alone. This is one of those moments where progression, not persistence, is the real deal. However, with the right setup, getting things running again becomes much easier and much more satisfying. Here's what you need to know.
How to fix a dried up Wasteland water wheel
To properly repair waterwheels, you will have to head to the Bleak Beach areawhich you can find at the entrance behind the crops section, which is usually the second or third area depending on your journey through the game. O
from here, follow the quest line until you meet Piplup. Completing Piplup related tasks will eventually reward you with an ability that allows you to absorb and carry water. This is the mechanic that makes the whole puzzle possible.
If you've completed the story in Bleak Beach but still haven't unlocked it, continue doing the quests in the region and talk to Piplup. Finally, it grants you the ability to absorb water. It may take a while.
After unlocking water ability find by a body of water in the Withered Wasteland and use absorb the action and collect it. With the stored water, approach the inactive waterwheels. You can place water anywhere nearby, so choose a location that will clearly power the wheel mechanism. As soon as you release the water, a new source of water will be created and it will automatically spin around.
Repeat the same procedure to activate the second wheel. Collect more water, bring it back and place it where it feeds into the remaining mechanism. Once both wheels are delivered, they will spin continuously and the surrounding area will begin to fill with water as intended.
