In case you missed it, Fox McCloud is embarking on a comeback tour starting in about five days when The Super Mario Galaxy Movie hits theaters. Because in massive news it has been revealed that Fox McCloud is indeed part of the cast of the upcoming sequel to the original The Super Mario Bros. after some heavy fan speculation about the appearance.
If that announcement wasn't enough, Nintendo and Illumination followed it up by revealing that Glen Powell, who has starred in his fair share of movies involving fighter jets, would be the voice of Fox McCloud.
The Nintendo Switch 2's new Boost mode finally makes it a console worth buying
Portable gaming on Nintendo Switch 2 has never been better thanks to the new Boost Mode.
It's a huge moment for a franchise that has spent several years dormant, and it's not just fans who are pumped to see Fox McCloud's poster for the movie on the big screen. Its original creators are too.
Argonaut Games, who helped bring the original Star Fox to consoles on social media, was excited to see Fox in all his HD glory as part of the movie poster.
The hype coincided with a separate post from Dylan Cuthbert, the person largely responsible for Fox giving his last name McCloud.
In other words, it's a celebration to the fullest.
Star Fox News doesn't stop there either
On the heels of revealing that Fox will be making its big screen debut, a Nintendo insider announced that Star Fox will also be coming to a console near you by the end of the year. Specifically, the first Star Fox adventure in ten years will arrive in 2026.
“Star Fox is coming back in the summer of 2026. We're getting a new Star Fox game in the very near future,” an insider told Natethehate. “I'm told it's classic Star Fox style, [and that] The visuals are supposed to be very good and I hear it has online multiplayer.”
That might explain the revelation. If you're a Fox fan, then the last 48 hours or so have been nothing short of a whirlwind of energy.
