Life is Strange: Double Exposure follows the other games in the series by asking you to solve some puzzles in order to get the information you need to solve the bigger mystery. One of these puzzles is trying to unlock Vinho's phone to see what he's hiding.
Max is tasked with finding out who murdered Safi Life is Strange: Double Exposureand Vinh is one of her main suspects in Chapter 2. This is mainly because she acts very suspicious about her phone and as a result she needs to find the passcode to unlock it and reveal its secret.

Before diving into the world of Life is Strange, players should be aware of a few unwritten rules regarding its choices and exploration options.
How to unlock Vinh's phone
The first step in this mission is to talk to Vinh in the ATV while you are in the living world, which will be available after you leave the bar at the beginning of the chapter. He lost his phone and suspects that Diamond stole it. Talk to Diamond and eavesdrop on the Abraxas members nearby to find out that probably not, and Vinh will tell you to find him in his office later.
You won't find him in his office right away, so complete the next two missions in the Fine Arts Building. Once you're done, you'll be able to find Vinh back in his office in the Living World. He found his phone but is being very secretive about it. He mentions that he can't remember his passcode because he's so hungover, but he knows it has something to do with the day a certain wizard died.
Max comments that luckily she knows another Vinh she can talk to, and this is your clue to crossing over to the Dead World using her dimension powers. Return to Vinh's office in the Dead World and you'll find him on the sofa drinking a little too soon. While you're talking to him, you can either use the favor he owes you to get his passcode, or you can find out which magical scientist he was talking about in the Living World.
He will tell you the name of the magician Jack Parsons. From there, you need to find a book in the library that will tell you the exact year he died. The book is on the shelves right next to the fireplace, to the left as you enter the library. If you're not sure where to find the library, it's where you helped Gwen get the book from the locked library.
Now that you have the code, return to the Living World and back to Vinho's office. He won't be there, but his phone will be on his desk. Use the passcode to open it and reveal the secret it holds, and Max will be one step closer to solving the mystery of who killed Safi in Life is Strange: Double Exposure.
