Target Unveils Pokemon 30th Anniversary Collection

To celebrate PokemonFor its 30th anniversary, Target has unveiled a brand new line of apparel and products that will be sold in stores and online. The franchise debuted in Japan in 1996 and was brought to North America two years later. Over the past three decades, Pokemon continues to reach new audiences with a steady stream of video games, merchandise, cards and more.

The Pokémon Company's plans for the rest of 2026 are starting to come into focus. Recently, Pokemon Day Out and Night Out events have been announced, offering alternative experiences for both older and younger fans. The Night Out event will focus on EDM performances by Marshmello and Alison Wonderland, with a special Pokemon– inspired visuals that match the music. Meanwhile, the Day Out events will be more of a family affair, although details are limited.

Starting in May, Pokemon fans will be able to find the new 30th anniversary product collection at target locations and online. Products will include new clothing as well as a variety of other options. Pokemon keyboards, water bottles, headphones, hair clips and handbags are just some of the products on offer. Based on what was shown on Target's website, the 30th anniversary collection appears to be a mixed bag. The Kanto Region Starter Jacket also feels like a fitting throwback to the 90s for those willing to spend the $129.99 it will cost. Unfortunately, none of the products seem to use any specials Pokemon 30th anniversary logos, which seems like a missed opportunity. The products will be available in stores on May 2 and will be offered online on May 3 at 9:00 a.m. ET.
