One Piece officially reveals Imu's 'Omen' – a new power stronger than the Conqueror's Haki

With the divine descent of Nero Ima in the land of Elbaph in Chapter 1179, it was only a matter of time before Eiichiro Oda unleashed his incredible powers on the giants and pirates of Warland. One piece Chapter 1180 did just that, revealing a fraction of Imu's powers that are astounding. One of the deadliest abilities in the series, called the 'Omen', is unleashed by Imu on several pirates and may be the most powerful power in the story yet. From revival and regeneration to complete incineration with overwhelming power, Omen is an ability that stands above even the likes of Conqueror's Haki.

Breaking Nerona Imu's “Omen” mechanic

Nerona Imu's Omen is a very powerful ability that stems directly from his Devil Fruit. As confirmed in the last chapters of One Piece, Imu has the power of 'Devil Fruit' or 'Akuma no Mi.' This devil fruit is one that predates any other fruit that exists in the world of One Piece and as such has a much higher power. Unlike other Devil Fruits, the twin does not have a name. All Devil Fruits that exist in the world of One Piece have a dual naming pattern and fall into this category as “Gomu Gomu no Mi”, “Gura Gura no Mi”, “Yami Yami no Mi” or any other fruit that exists. Imu's Devil Fruit is called The Devil's Fruit, suggesting that it is the original and ultimate Devil Fruit created for death, destruction and oppression.

Akuma no Mi allows Imu to transform into a devil and can also use devilish powers that range from spreading evil anywhere to casting demonic spells. 'Omen' is one such spell that Imu casts with his incredible abilities and is part of what makes him the true king of the world and the strongest in One Piece. In Chapter 1180, Imu cast the power of Omen to bring back his allies while dealing lethal damage to enemies, making him one of the most versatile abilities in existence.

The deadly attack abilities of the new power 'Akuma no Mi'

The Omen is a unique spell used by Imu that can essentially bring back anyone already bound to him through the Covenant. Imu's three contracts are:

• the Shallow Sea Convention

• Pact of the Deep

• Abyssal Covenant

If one of them is close to being seriously damaged or incapacitated, Imu can use the Omen to revive them in a sense or restore them to full strength and make them even stronger than before. This is already an overpowering ability on its own, but this is only a supplemental use of this ability.

Omen also has offensive abilities as seen in the last chapter of One Piece. With Omen's power, Imu is able to create a black flame that is so powerful that he can basically one-shot Roronoa Zoro, a 1.111 billion berry pirate with all three types of Haki. Similarly, Imu immediately flew to Sanji's place and when he used the power of the Omen again, he obliterated him with a single kick covered in black flames. Due to its offensive and defensive abilities, Omen is one of the most dangerous powers that exists in the world of One Piece.

How the 'Omen' overcomes the Haki Conqueror

Imu's Omen is a special power that surpasses even the Conqueror's Haki, as seen in the last chapter of the manga. When Zoro faced Imou in the Elbaph Arc, he unleashed his full power and used the King of Hell: Onigiri. The King of Hell itself makes full use of high-level armor and advanced Conqueror's Haki, and as such is built to give way to the Devil Fruit's abilities. However, Imu was able to accidentally block this power and overpower Zoro's own Conqueror Haki with his use of Omen. Similarly, Imu's ability was able to break through Sanji's Haki and destroy him in battle as well.

The Omen is a power that surpasses Haki alone, especially when wielded by someone of Nero Imu's level, making it truly deadly. As Imu's abilities are further explored in the upcoming chapters of One Piece, she will most certainly demonstrate abilities that will shatter the entire power system of the world and further assert her dominance at the very top. If there was any doubt, Imu is easily the strongest in the One Piece world, as expected from someone who defeated the likes of Joy Boy during the Void Century War 800 years ago and has ruled ever since.
