The Nintendo 64 it brings back a lot of memories for a lot of people. For many, the N64 represents the glory days of couch co-op gaming, sitting with friends in front of an old TV, blowing into a cartridge when it didn't work (even though it didn't do anything and could hurt her in the long run), snacking on snacks and fighting in Mario Kart or Super Smash Bros.
Nostalgia aside, the N64 had plenty of notable games, many of which proved to be monumental influences on the gaming industry as a whole. Some remain incredibly rare to this day, making them some of the most expensive N64 games ever and helping them take pride of place on collectors' shelves, thankfully their own.

Wrestling games probably peaked on the N64, but not because of it WCW Backstage Assault. On a system that has produced such all-time greats as WCW vs. nWo: World Tour and WWF No Mercy, Backstage Assault was a clumsy mess that reflected WCW's decline in relevance and popularity. While the PS1 version was released in both regions, the N64 game was only released in North America, which makes sense WCW it was not available in Europe.
8 Nintendo 64 Games You Can't Play Today
The N64 is home to some of the greatest games of all time, though not all of its titles have aged particularly well.
Normal version WCW Backstage Assault it's not rare or expensive, and you should be able to pick up a copy for less than $40. However, the gray basket edition requires a much larger investment, which has become common practice for these types of releases. The funny thing is that gray cartridges were designed as cost-effective alternatives, but now they are much more expensive than normal ones.

Depending on your area Kirby 64: Crystal Shards it doesn't have to be that expensive to buy, although the CIB version will always require some cash. You can probably get a copy for about $150 in North America, and much cheaper if you splurge on the clearance stuff. In PAL regions however Kirby 64 it is much more expensive, up to 3 times higher. why is that?
Well, the simple answer is that the N64 really wasn't popular in Europe and was completely overshadowed by the PS1. The console debuted in 1997, meaning it was immediately on the back foot. Quite a few games also came out later than other regions, incl Kirby 64. Despite launching in 2000 in Japan and North America, the Nintendo platform did not appear in Europe until June 2001, a year after the NTSC launch. At the time, the PS2 had already been out for several months.

Blues Brothers 2000 it's such a weird game. Putting aside the fact that the N64 game is based on an unpopular movie, it came out over 2.5 years after the movie was released! How could it have any chance of going well? The N64 was entering its twilight at this point as well, and the GameCube had already been announced. I can't imagine too many people rushing to the stores to pick up a platformer based on a now-forgotten movie, which might explain why Blue Brothers 2000 has become quite rare these days.
The price of CIB has been steadily increasing for about 6 years now, from around $200 to over $500. The latter was a staple for a while, and a few copies even sold for over $600. Even the free versions are quite expensive as they tend to go for over $100.

Here's another special edition that goes way beyond the standard version Gauntlet Legends on the N64 is relatively expensive no matter which one you decide to buy. Still, the figure pack is much more expensive, if only because of its rarity. Although multiple copies of CIB have been available since 2024, this pack was almost non-existent by then and new versions are almost impossible to find. This release was targeted and the figure itself is actually tiny. Otherwise, the package came with the game and manual, so nothing out of the ordinary.
The 23 Rarest PS2 Games (And How Much They Cost)
The most expensive PS2 games for collectors to buy can change over time, and here are the rarest games in 2026.
While the N64 versions are somewhat expensive, Gauntlet Legends it's really cheap on other platforms. However, none of them came up with a character.

Mario Paint was a fun little game on the SNES. Players could do all kinds of things, from creating pictures to funny musical arrangements with sound effects. It was popular enough to make one wonder why it never got a sequel. The point is that it happened in Artist Mario series. The problem is that it was on a Nintendo 64DD, an add-on that allows the N64 to read special discs and even connect to the Internet for online play. Each disk served a different function, from painting to uploading art to the web.
If owners only had the base console, they had to make do with the Mario no Photopi. Gamers could insert SmartMedia cards into the cartridge slots, load images into the machine, and then edit them with borders, fonts, and other enhancements. They could even turn them into posters, presentations or picture puzzles. It is the most expensive of Artist Mario games, though that price tag might be more tolerable if gamers didn't also need a 64DD on top of that.

Today, 40 Wink is mostly forgotten, a side effect of being a decent 3D platformer released during an era known for its greats. If you decide to pick up the PS1 version or the N64 Homebrew edition, you probably won't need to spend more than $100 and that would be too much to be honest.
However, the special edition costs a lot more, although you can find it loose for less than a hundred dollars. If you want to pick up the boxed or sealed version, you should be prepared to spend big because this release is rare and hard to come by. For example, Pricecharting only has 3 CIBs and 2 new listings in its history, which is very few compared to most other N64 games.

for the most part The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time not an expensive N64 game, with NTSC copies being especially cheap. Even the more difficult ones are relatively affordable. However, there is one exception: The Special Edition. So, what exactly is it? Well, as far as I could confirm (because info on this edition is hard to find) this is the version Ocarina of Time which was only released in Germany.
The box opens up to create a nice flat surface, which is probably the main reason someone would want to pick this version up. Behind the box was a package with a pin, velcro and of course a copy of the game.

Worms Armageddon was the third entry in Team17's attractive turn-based tactics series and is arguably the best in the series. He brought a number of new items and weapons (like the Divine Hand Grenade) to make destroying enemies more impressive. The game has been released for virtually every machine, from PC and PlayStation to N64 and Dreamcast and even Game Boy Color.
By being so ordinary people would think Worms Armageddon would be cheap to buy, and that is, except for NA N64 copies. It is the only one whose new copy prices are in the 4 digit range. In addition to the CIB versions being much more expensive than on other systems, PAL N64 cartridges are also normally priced (around $50 per CIB). Since other ports are so easy to find and buy, NA N64 prices are as ridiculous as Concrete Donkey.

The original kaiju sim Rampage made a brief comeback in the late 1990s with some 3D remakes that offered the same building-and-people-smashing action of the old arcade. Rampage 2: Universal Tour spiced up the action with a story involving space aliens and other playable monsters, international locations and upgrades. It even came with FMV cutscenes…except on the N64 where they proved to be a technical leap too far.
The 7 Scariest Kaiju Games
These scary games revolve around huge and strange animals.
However, lucky and brave Walmart customers were able to get special editions of the game that came with plush playable monsters and keychains. Other stores offered their own goodies, like t-shirts, etc., but only Walmart stuffed them in special big boxes. With their exclusive status and goodies, they have become quite rare. Still, as much as $749 sounds for a copy of CIB, its prices used to be much higher.

The N64 wasn't a great platform for outdoor fighting games Super Smash Brosbut that didn't stop developers from trying. Transformers: Beast Wars Transmetals brought an early morning vibe Virtua Fighter sa Transformers motive. Players chose characters from Beast Wars show and fought their opponents in a standard fighter, albeit with alternate Beast and Vehicle forms to add some A bloody roar driving cues.
It threw an Energon resistance meter that players had to maintain or their attacks would be limited if it ran out. The N64 version also had a console-exclusive boss, Megatron X. However, its late 2000 release and lack of attention relegated it to obscurity. The North American (NA) free cart is almost 10x the Japanese version and 5x the PS1 version. It is rising higher in CIB and also new prices, approaching the 4-digit mark in one and crossing 2 thousand in the other.
