Although different Popopia players have placed Pokemon tribute in Rocky Ridges, one player created an impressive way to give a rock-covered area a complete makeover. On Popopia subreddit, a redditor named Identikitten shared a short video of the work they were doing at Rocky Ridges. The main goal of Identikitten's Rocky Ridges makeover project was to clear the path between the Pokémon Center and the museum, which is normally blocked by a mountain and piles of volcanic ash. Instead of working around the mountain, Identikitten carved a direct path to the museum by removing rock and ash that blocked the path, creating a pedestrian path with rows of street lights and neatly spaced houses.
In addition, the Identikitten were also mindful of some of the pre-existing infrastructure of Rocky Ridges, as their route to the museum paralleled two restored minecart tracks. Several Pokémon, including Chatot, Diglett, and Machoka, can be seen briefly throughout the Identikitten video. Along the way to the Rocky Ridges Museum, Identikitten showed a glimpse of the homes they restored, adding a sense of comfort to the setting. Although Identikitten did not enter the museum in their short video, the clip showed an impressive view of the front facade of the two-story building. The video ends with Identikitten panning the camera back towards the Pokémon Center so viewers can see how far the journey stretches.
The power of Popopia remains strong
Considering the other Pokemon Pokopia players have embarked on level remodeling projects like Bleak Beach, Identikitten's efforts have not gone unnoticed on social media. In response to the Rocky Ridges makeover video, some Pokemon Pokopia players commented how they were subsequently tempted to try to clear a path between the Pokémon Center and the museum. Other Popopia players said they hated having to dig through volcanic ash in their own game save files.
