Magic: The Gathering may have accidentally leaked some new cards appearing in Marvel Super Heroes crossover in June. Cards erroneously included in Secrets of Strixhaven Magic the pack includes popular characters like Iron Man and Thor.
The popular trading card game from Wizards of the Coast has already had a busy 2026, with a number of major expansions launching in the first few months of the year. Magic: The Gathering kicking off the year with a long-awaited return to a pair of popular planes, and bringing back Lorwyn and Shadowmoor with the release of Lorwyn Eclipsed. Wizards of the Coast followed up Lorwyn Eclipsed with a brand new one Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles crossover, while Secrets of Strixhaven brought fans back to Arcavios for more adventures at the titular magical university. However, Magic: The Gathering it may have leaked some core cards from its next expansion via the Secrets of Strixhaven product.

Reddit user BRBgottahunt unexpectedly came across four cards from Magic: The GatheringAnother Marvel crossover in the Secrets of Strixhaven Draft Night box. One deck in the box in particular did not contain the normal Uncommon cards from Secrets of Strixhaven, but instead contained a set of Uncommons from the upcoming Marvel Super Heroes file. The set of four includes the two original Avengers, with Thor and Iron Man cards pulled from the deck. SHIELD member and eventual director Maria Hill is getting her own card as part of the Marvel set, while Ronin is also confirmed to appear in Magic crossover. Magic: The Gathering'with Marvel Super Heroes the expansion is scheduled for release on June 26.

The Agent Maria Hill card refers to a new mechanic in Magic: The Gatheringwith “teamwork” seemingly involving tapping creatures for various effects. Maria's functionality may also indicate that specific cards can benefit from being used for the mechanic, with Maria gaining +1/+1 counters when tapped for teamwork effects. Artifacts could be a major focus in the Marvel expansion as well, with Iron Man gaining power based on controlling Artifacts, while Ronin allows players to pay lives for equipping spells and using Equip abilities.
While Magic Marvel Super Heroes crossover doesn't officially go on sale until June, fans already got a taste of what's to come. Wizards of the Coast has revealed several cards coming with the Marvel expansion, including powerful cards based on The Incredible Hulk and Captain America. The leaks even tested four new pre-engineered commander decks that were released side by side Marvel Super Heroesincluding packs for Avengers, Doctor Doom, The Fantastic Four and Black Panther.
