Pokemon Winds and Waves is literally too big to repeat the Switch 1 game's biggest mistake

If I were to describe my experience with Pokemon and my love for the series, I would probably need novel words as I played Pokemon games for something in the park of 10,000 to 11,000 hours. Pokemon winds and waves excite me like I'm a kid again, even though I don't know much besides some leaks and a 3 minute reveal trailer. But a new Pokemon adventure after such a long time since Gen 9 is something I crave even after almost 700 hours Pokemon Legends: ZA alone. And yet, from what I've seen so far in the leaks and the announcement trailer Pokemon winds and waves it points to a vast world that can be both good and bad.

if you ask me Pokemon Scarlet and Violet they were amazing despite the performance issues and glitches, and the sheer size of Paldeo helped with the sense of awe when first exploring it. However, the world felt too empty as there were few trainers and only a handful of Pokémon appeared on the screen at once. Given how ambitious Pokemon winds and wavesThis area seems to include ground and underwater exploration, possibly flying too, it would be fair to fix the infamous Dexit and bring back all the Pokemon.

Pokemon Winds and Waves will have an even playing field after FireRed and LeafGreen, Legends: ZA

Pokemon Legends: ZA and the FireRed and LeafGreen ports have opened the floodgates for competition in Gen 10 when Pokemon Winds and Waves launches.

The leaked Pokemon Winds and Waves map could be a step towards fixing Dexit

With over 1,000 Pokemon in total, it can be a daunting task to include them all in a single game, especially with regional variations, gimmicks like Mega Evolution and G-Max forms, and so on. That's what they've been talking about all this time Pokemon Sword and Shield were revealed and was named Dexit by a fan, signifying the departure of several Pokemon species from the National Pokedex. The reason was attributed to the challenge of animating all Pokemon, but s Pokemon winds and waves will be released in late 2027, according to recent rumors, and with them being so huge, it would make sense to return to a full Pokedex in Gen 10.

It doesn't necessarily have to be everything in the base game Pokemon Scarlet and Violet it started with 400 Pokemon in total, but then got a lot more with each DLC. So, Pokemon winds and waves could bring back around 500 Pokemon in the base game, plus all the new ones, and then the rest with a DLC or two. Another option would be to not include Legendary and Mythicals and add them later, such as through events.

With regard to the leaked Pokemon winds and waves map and assuming the leak is legit, there would be 17 islands and several bodies of water with different Pokemon. With such a large map, it would be a waste if the National Pokedex before the DLC only had about 400 creatures like Gen 8 and 9, especially if that counts Gen 10 pokemon.

It's time to bring back the full Pokedex in Gen 10

If the first island and its surrounding bodies of water already include all returning Pokemon Pokemon winds and waves so far it's a very small group of creatures for such a large place. Between Pokemon Hotel, Wasteland, Magma Area, Woobat Tunnel, Rice Fields, Observation Deck, Grass Gym, Swamp Area, Mangrove Forest, Buried Ruins, “Spiky Rocks” Area, a place called Mt. Symbol Summit and Research Lab, there are many biomes that contain many species of animals.

The list of confirmed returning Pokemon in Gen 10 so far includes:

  • Pikachu

  • Special

  • Gloomy

  • Crabby

  • Tangela

  • Ledyba

  • Ledian

  • Slugma

  • Corsola

  • Taillow

  • Wingull

  • Wilmer

  • Wailord

  • Duskull

  • Tropius

  • Carnivine

  • Lumineon

  • Tympole

  • snazzy

  • Tynamo

  • Marenia

  • Toxapex

  • Sandygast

  • Swizel

  • Nymble

Because there is a chance Pokemon winds and waves will have the largest region yet, at least based on leaks so far it would be a waste of space not to feature as many returning Pokemon as possible. Additionally, keeping Dexit's approach may backfire considering Gen 10 is said to launch in late 2027, and fans may be upset that five years after Gen 9, only a small fraction of the series' pocket monsters are still in the game. It remains to be seen what will happen with the return of Pokemon, but there would be reason to believe that a full Pokedex is possible.
