Magic: The Gathering's New One Ring Card has been tracked down
Magic: The Gathering shared an official statement from the company and artist Dan Frazier on the game's social media account. Frazier's statement confirmed that for a long time Magic the artist painted Marty Nael's artwork for The One Ring while creating a new version of the alternate art for The Hobbit. Wizards of the Coast revealed that the full release of the card will feature artist credits for both Frazier and Nael, with Nael also receiving compensation from the company for the card. Dan Frazier said he also reached out to Marta Nael to apologize for the error in the new One Ring card.

The controversy surrounding The One Ring comes as the card is easily one of the biggest draws Magic'with The Hobbit crossover. One Ring was first printed as a Mythic Rare card in lord of the ringsthey will later receive alternate art versions in the Orchard and Secret Lair Packs. The card even received a special one-of-a-kind elf text version, with the serialized One Ring selling to Post Malone in 2023 for over $2 million. The reprint version of The One Ring will be exclusive to the Collector's Booster Packs The Hobbit.
Magic's crossover with The Hobbit will feature lots of exciting new cards outside of The One Ring. The expansion will include several demo card edits based on the covers of JRR Tolkien's original novels, showcasing Thorin, the Mountain-King, and the Arkenstone. Smaug the Magnificent will also receive a special variant in the Collector's Booster Packs, with the “Gold Luster” variant limited to just 500 total copies. Wizards of the Coast also confirmed that five of the new cards in the set will be receiving dwarven language versions, with the Arcane Signet being the first to be revealed.
