Fighting Souls reveals Fighting Avengers and new characters

At EVO Japan 2026, Arc System Works revealed a brand new trailer for the Marvel Tokon: Fighting Soulsadding two previously unannounced characters to the Avengers team. Roster for Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls is slowly coming together as the unique 4v4 fighter approaches its release date. With two teams left to be announced, fans now have a complete four-character team for the newly announced Fighting Avengers.

While fans held out hope for a new entry into the popular Marvel vs. Capcom franchise, Arc System Works surprised fighting game fans in the summer of 2025 with its take on the tag fighter genre. Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls ups the ante a bit by being a 4v4 fighter, taking familiar heroes from the Marvel universe and adding some unique Japanese-inspired elements to them, like Iron Man using a Gundam-looking suit. With most fighting games, fans want to know which characters will make up the starting roster, and since there are tons of characters to choose from, there are countless speculations about which teams will contain certain characters.

Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls has revealed some new X-Men that will be part of the roster, with Danger being one of the most interesting.

Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls presents the Fighting Avengers

From the original reveal and subsequent test builds Marvel Tokenfans saw Iron Man and Captain America, they assumed there would be some sort of Avengers team featuring the two. At EVO Japan 2026, Arc System Works finally revealed the full team that includes Iron Man and Captain America. Joining the group is the Incredible Hulk, voiced by Fred Tatasciore, a popular character who has previously appeared in past Marvel fighting games, though Arc System Works has added some unique tweaks to help this Hulk stand out a bit from previous versions.

First, Hulk's outfit features bone armor that gives him a slightly more ferocious appearance. According to an accompanying blog post, producer Takeshi Yamanaka revealed that due to Hulk's immense strength and instability, his teammates and other powerful organizations like SHIELD eventually decided to banish him to the Savage Lands. In terms of gameplay, the Hulk is described as a character that can overpower opponents and features a Gamma Gauge that builds during combat. When filled, the Hulk enters a Gamma Rage state that increases his speed and attack power, allowing players to perform one-shot attacks that deal massive damage.

Alongside the Hulk, the final member of the Fighting Avengers is Black Panther, voiced by Erica Luttrell. However, this version is not T'challa, but his younger sister Shuri, similar to what fans saw in the MCU's version of Black Panther. IN Marvel Tokon: Fighting SoulsShuri only recently assumed the mantle of Black Panther and also remains Wakanda's chief scientist, forcing her to balance her roles. She is a fast and agile fighter who uses the Spear of Bashenga and a high mobility skill called Bast's Blessing, which allows her to dash in multiple directions while canceling normal attacks, helping to allow for flexible combos and mixups.

New characters weren't the only reveal in this trailer, though. The host is back to officially confirm more about the game's story and why these teams are created. As many rumors suggested, the main villain Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls is a champion, one of the elders of the universe, who roams the various planets and challenges worthy opponents to hand-to-hand combat. Fail against the champion and the planet is destroyed. IN Marvel Tokon: Fighting Soulshe went to Earth and prepared the Challenge of the Champion to face the mightiest heroes and villains.

In addition, Wakanda was also revealed as the latest map, following the confirmation of Nowhere Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls in the latest trailer. The new build of the game will also appear at upcoming events such as COmbo Break 2026 in Chicago and Hong Kong Comic Con 2026. The build will feature a Wakanda scene as well as the addition of Black Panther to the list of playable demos.
