How to unlock Thermal Spike ability in Black Ops 7 Endgame
The Thermal Spike Ability will not be permanently unlocked until week 6 Black Ops 7 Season 3. It is one of two rewards that players can earn by completing six weekly challenges in week 6begins on Thursday, May 7 at 9:00 a.m. PT.
Once you complete any six challenges across multiplayer, zombies, endgame or Warzoneyou'll unlock the Thermal Spike Ability that will allow you to do so equip it to your operator as a main ability before deploying.
How to get Thermal Spike early in Black Ops 7 Endgame
For those who play before week 6, you actually can get Thermal Spike Ability early. To do so, go to Endgame and complete a mystery task in any zone. These can be viewed on your Tac Map. Here's a quick overview of how to fill them out:

Interact with the Mystery Cargo manifest (marked as Mystery Cargo Assignment on the map).

Proceed to the marked location, take out the enemies and interact with the cargo to start unlocking it.

Defend the area against two incoming VTOLs that drop waves of enemies. Destroying these VTOLs with the launcher is the best method.

Open the container once the progress reaches 100% and eliminate the threat inside.
Inside the Mystery Cargo container, you can find an Ability Case that offers two random main abilitieswhich gives you a chance to get the Thermal Spike Ability early. If you extract with an ability, it will remain active for that particular operator until you exchange it for another.
What does Thermal Spike Ability do in Black Ops 7 Endgame?
Thermal Spike Ability takes up your Major Ability slot and therefore requires players to charge it over time. After activation, players will shoot flames in the direction they are facingwith the area leaves a permanent flame AoE over time.
This will set enemies on fire, dealing rapid incendiary damage to enemies hit by the attack and caught in the resulting explosion. His excellent for crowd controlespecially when you're up against hordes of Dread enemies.
