Remember when we were convinced that The Defenders would definitely appear in Avengers: Endgame? Unfortunately, that didn't happen. The closest we got was Matt Murdoch, who appeared in his legal form in Spider-Man: No Way Home. With Avengers: Doomsday and Secret Wars slowly approaching, the question is once again whether he will appear in the larger MCU after Daredevil: Born Again.
While the show's second season has been nothing short of fantastic, it doesn't seem to be enough to earn Charlie Cox a cameo in the MCU's next big crossover movies. Cox himself revealed that Marvel told him he would not be a part of either of the two films.
Daredevil: Gone Again
Cox appeared on the Happy Sad Confused podcast (thanks, GamesRadar) and was asked what he thought about the idea of interacting with more characters from the larger MCU. “So far Marvel has kind of made it clear to me to focus on the show,” he replied. “That's our focus. That's really true.”
Cox and Wilson Fisk actor Vincent D'Onofrio is already busy filming the third season of Daredevil: Born Again, so it seems he wasn't kidding about focusing solely on the show right now. With so much pressure on Doomsday to live up to Endgame, it seems unlikely that the writers would create more problems for themselves by trying to tie in Daredevil.

Avengers: Doomsday's Cast Reveal was marketing genius for die-hard MCU fans
I finally have a reason to care about the MCU again.
It would be pretty cool to see Daredevil keep the little guy safe while the Avengers take care of Doctor Doom and the bigger bad guys. Although it would make a lot more sense in Infinity War and Endgame via Doomsday from what little we know about it.
The upside to this is that Cox is already working on a third season of Born Again, so we won't have to wait too long for it.
