Xbox Game Pass adds cozy open-world co-op gameplay on day one

Developed by Dutch studio Square Glade Games, Outbound combines first-person base-building, open-world exploration, crop-growing, and pet-raising into a diverse experience with a distinctly cozy tone. Set in a near-future utopian world where people just need to relax, the game tasks players with relaxing in picturesque environments that they can navigate on foot or in a customizable RV. Outbound Bolsters Xbox Game Pass Library of Cozy Co-Op titles

After approximately three years of active development Outbound was officially launched for PC and consoles on May 11th at 10:00 AM ET. Square Glade's second title also saw its first day of release on Microsoft's subscription service, hitting Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass. As with other first-party releases, it's not clear when Outbound may be added to the Xbox Game Pass Premium catalog, although Microsoft's broader cadence of content updates suggests that November 2026 is the earliest feasible period for this to occur.

In March 2026 Outbound has surpassed 1.3 million wishlists on Steam alone, an average of over 50,000 wishlists per month since its official page first appeared on the Valve platform. At the time of its release on May 11, the cozy crafting game had climbed to No. 13 on Valve's worldwide list of upcoming upcoming titles, according to SteamDB data.
