On May 10th, Redditor Dramatic-Track-9935 shared this when they pre-ordered Legacy of the Dark Knight from Walmart, they immediately received the code and were able to download and play the game. Naturally, others quickly tried to exploit the same glitches, and so far it has worked for many of them. TT Games recently announced this LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight is gold, so it's no wonder the current iteration of the game is doing well, but being downloadable and accessible nearly two weeks before its scheduled launch is quite a mistake.

One user commenting on Dramatic-Track-9935's post noted that although they were able to download and play Legacy of the Dark Knightinformed them of the availability of the requested update. This patch is likely TT Games' response to cutting off access to the game, so the company could have closed the leak and anyone who has already downloaded it will likely have to play offline until launch day. So the lucky few players may not be able to experience them all LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight's features, but most would probably agree that it's a fair compromise.

This bug doesn't seem to apply to all versions Legacy of the Dark Knight. The OP and others emulating them got pre-ordered standard digital editions of the game from Walmart, so it's unclear if the same method worked on other platforms or through different sources. Even if it did, it may no longer work on any front, given the note some users have seen about a mandatory update. However, there is still a way to play it a little early. It's been a rough few days for games with upcoming releases, but anyone waiting for a full legit launch won't have to wait long either.
