Fortnite Confirms Overwatch Crossover, Reveals Release Date

Another main Fortnite crossover come on multiplayer hit will Overwatchand players only have to wait a few days for the co-op to be launched. Fortnite and Overwatch were two of the most popular multiplayer games of the past decade, and their worlds have finally collided.

Fortnite battle royale has come a long way since its original beginnings. Epic Games' free-to-play title has expanded into various game modes, hosted virtual concerts, and become one of the biggest platforms for major crossovers. From major film and television franchises to other video games, there was a lot Fortnite crossovers over the years. This tends to spawn rumors of what the next collaboration will be, and it looks like it Fortnite and Overwatch crossover leaks turned out to be true.

Fortnite confirms Overwatch crossover is just around the corner

Earlier today, official Fortnite A Twitter account has released a teaser video that hints at what skins will be coming out in Season 2 Chapter 7 May 14th. The video only showed a silhouette of the character, but Overwatch fans will quickly notice that the mysterious form is D.Va. Rumors that Overwatch comes to Fortnite have been going on for a few months now, and this trailer is the first major confirmation fans have received regarding the team's formation.

So far, D.Va is the only character that has been confirmed as an upcoming addition Fortnite skin. What the other familiar faces are from is unclear Overwatch will be added to Fortnite Item Shop, but past leaks and rumors have mentioned characters like Tracer. Until Epic Games officially confirms Overwatch skins, though every other non-D.Va character mentioned is purely a rumor and should be viewed with skepticism. Past leaks have gone so far as to claim four Overwatch characters could come to Battle Royale, but only time will tell.

The good news is that the wait won't be long at all Fortnite the crossover will launch in just two days. After months of speculation, players who are both Fortnite and Overwatch fans will finally get to see what some of the latter's favorite characters look like, remade in the former's basic art style. May 14th will be a big day Fortnite in general. Not just the will Overwatch skins to add to the mix, but new Fortnite Star Wars appearances and Act 3 performances will make it a big day for updates.

Epic Games finally got it Overwatch in Fortnite reality and it will be interesting to see how players react to the upcoming characters. More interestingly, it opens the door to other loved ones Overwatch characters that will be added to the game. Epic Games is constantly changing Fortnite and is working on expanding his crossover list, and Overwatch his debut is sure to be one of the most interesting collaborations the game has lined up for this month.
