The latest arc Solo leveling anime, called the Jeju Island Arc, saw protagonist Sung Jinwoo reach an incredibly high level by defeating an enemy as powerful as the Ant King. Solo leveling Set to take Jinwoo on an even more dangerous ride, Season 3 will officially star even bigger and stronger Hunters.
While Jeju Island has taken Jinwoo to a whole new level of strength and ensured that he stands alongside the best hunters in the world, he is still not the strongest hunter in the anime. There are plenty of other Hunters that can rival him in terms of strength and some may even surpass him. Among them is the strongest national-level hunter, Thomas Andre, who is to be officially introduced as a powerful figure in the Solo leveling Season 3 and get an incredibly important role in the upcoming International Guild Conference arc.
Solo Leveling Season 3 will finally show the power of Thomas Andre, the current strongest S-Rank hunter
Thomas Andre was officially introduced in Solo Loving Season 2 as one of the strongest national level hunters. This means that he is strong enough to easily clear the S-Rank gate by himself. He stands alongside the likes of Liu Zhigang, Christopher Reed and Siddharth Bachchan as the only Hunters strong enough to be labeled national level. Among all the hunters in the Solo Leveling world who hold the National Level title, Thomas Andre is quite easily the strongest, by a mile.
“He crushed those who stood in his way. Those who looked down upon him had to kneel.” — Solo Leveling Narrator on Thomas Andre
Being a national level hunter already means that he is strong enough to easily overpower someone like the Ant King, whom Jinwoo somewhat battled at the end of Solo Leveling Season 2. For Thomas Andre, fighting a threat as powerful as the Ant King would be a joke. He has enough power in him to easily take down the vast majority of enemies he faces, and much of that will be shown in Solo Leveling Season 3 when it comes out.
In the upcoming new season of Solo Leveling, a lot of lore surrounding Kamish will be revealed, and the power of this dragon is said to be such that even a National Level Hunter could not take it down. Despite this, Thomas Andre more than impressed in his fight against Kamish by grabbing one of the dragon's own fangs. Additionally, it will also be revealed in Solo Leveling Season 3 that Thomas Andre is a vessel of the Overlord, giving him immense power beyond his own.

Solo Leveling: Strongest S-Rank Hunter in each country, ranked
Sung Jinwoo is easily South Korea's strongest Solo Leveling character and most powerful S-Rank, but he's not alone at the top of the totem pole.
Why Thomas Andre beats current Sung Jinwoo
It goes without saying that Sung Jinwoo is currently one of the most powerful characters in Solo Leveling. Having recently reached level 100, Jinwoo can easily take out Ant King level threats. He is also now unofficially strong as a national level hunter, given that he could easily clear the entire island of Jeju with his shadow army. That said, he's still not as strong as Thomas Andre.
“Anything that makes my heart flutter is beautiful. You are no exception.” —Thomas Andre
This is because in the Double Dungeon arc Solo Leveling, which starts in chapter 123 of the manhwa, Jinwoo is trying to deal with the threat of Kandiar and is not at Thomas Andre's level in comparison. On the other hand, Thomas Andre is so powerful that he can basically keep up with Jinwoo after receiving his Black Heart. If the current Jinwoo goes up against Thomas Andre, he will have no chance.
One of the most powerful abilities available to Thomas Andre is his Capture ability, which uses telekinesis to pull things towards him with immense force. Even with Jinwoo's strong reinforcement and powers like the Ruler's Authority, he struggles to deal with the attraction that Thomas Andre has.
Andre also has tremendously powerful punches, and anyone caught in his blast radius will either die in a single shot or suffer serious injuries. Finally, his other abilities include spirit body manifestation, which takes his overall skill to a whole new level. The current Jinwoo in the anime has absolutely no chance against Thomas Andre, and that makes the future of the Solo Leveling franchise that much more exciting. As Jinwoo's adventures continue, new and powerful enemies like Thomas Andre will appear and serve as a springboard for the protagonist to gain even more power and grow significantly in terms of overall strength.

Thomas Andre will eventually be defeated by Sung Jinwoo in the Arc International Guild Conference
Thomas Andre is obviously stronger than Sung Jinwoo at the moment, but that won't be the case for long. In the International Guild Conference arc, which officially begins in the manga beginning with chapter 140, Sung Jinwoo comes face to face with Thomas Andre. After he refuses to back down, she engages him in a high-level battle. This fight will definitely not be easy for Jinwoo to win, but with the use of immense powers, he will definitely be able to prevail in the very end. At the end of the day, Sung Jinwoo will finally fully master the power of the Black Heart and gain all the skills of the King of the Dead. Ashborn's powers are far greater than Thomas Andre's, and it is this staggering difference in overall power level that will allow Jinwoo to eventually surpass him.
Even more frightening is that Jinwoo has even more potential to grow Solo leveling. He is already tremendously powerful when fighting against Thomas Andre, but future fights against the likes of Antares will require Jinwoo to reach a new level of strength. Considering the continuation of the defiances, that is Solo Leveling; Ragnarok, Sung Jinwoo will grow even further in terms of overall strength and reach a level where he can fight the gods of Itarim, putting him on a completely different level of strength, far overshadowing even Antares, the Monarch of Destruction and currently the strongest character in all of Solo Leveling.
“Give us a little more time and we'll share something, that's what they're working on.” — Atsushi Kaneko, May 2026
All things considered, Sung Jinwoo's evolution will continue in Solo Leveling over the course of several more arcs until he eventually becomes the strongest in the world. It is this Solo Leveling factor that makes the series as exciting as it is. Already teased by A-1 Pictures producer Atsushi Kaneko, the next season will surely show his development as a fighter even further.
