Pokemon TCG Live adds a new game mode

Pokemon TCG Live adds a brand new Build and Battle game mode that pits players against each other using pre-built decks and a small selection of decks. The game mode is based on events prior to the release of the physical TCG and will debut Pokemon TCG Livefurther expansion.

Now, the release of Chaos Rising in Pokemon TCG Live will welcome the addition of a brand new game mode.

Pokemon TCG Live adds a new build and battle game mode

  • Build and fight: Players receive 40-card premade decks and four decks to enhance their decks, and can then play up to five games
  • Event Tokens are used for entry, available in the in-game store, through gifts or access codes, and with physical build and battle boxes.

Pokemon TCG Live will officially add Build and Battle as its first limited game mode with the release of Chaos Rising. Players can redeem Event Tokens to participate in a Build and Battle event, receiving a 40-card deck built around a specific Pokémon or playstyle that can be used alongside the four decks of the featured set. Players can exchange cards in their deck for cards drawn from decks to upgrade their decks before competing against other participants in the event. Build and Battle runs will last five matches, at the end of which you'll earn packs and trainer points based on their record during the run. Pokemon TCG Live will kick off their Build and Battle events with the release of Chaos Rising on May 21st, running until June 4th and gifting fans with a free game every week.

The new Build and Battle mode comes as Chaos Rising brings a slew of exciting new cards to the digital TCG. The set will welcome several new Mega Pokémon to the TCG, including Mega Greninja ex and Mega Floette ex as two of the main highlights. Chaos Rising also features several new trainer cards based on characters that appear in the game Pokemon Legends: ZAwhere AZ, Emma and Philippe appear.
