Black clover has one of the most well-received endings in shonen manga. Fans are generally grateful for Yuki Tabata, a renowned author Black cloverfor the satisfactory completion of the long journey of Asta the Sorcerer King. After 392 chapters, seasoned readers can finally say goodbye to a series that largely stays true to its core themes.

7 anime series better than black clover
Black Clover is fun, but these anime series hit harder.
However, Black cloverThe ending is far from perfect as it noticeably struggles in several key areas. Eagle-eyed fans are quick to point out these imperfections, from the rushed pacing and unexplored character arcs to the unanswered questions that apparently linger during the long-awaited finale. As usual, releasing bonus chapters in the future might help Black clover address these shortcomings.

Asta, Noelle, and Mimosa's open-ended romantic suspense
A love triangle that was never fully resolved
Throughout Black cloverBoth Noelle and Mimosa develop romantic feelings for Asta. Between the two, Noelle was more strongly built as Asta's endgame partner due to their obvious chemistry, moments together, and emotional development. Mimosa, on the other hand, consistently supports Asta from a distance.
However, the ending of Black Clover wastes the romantic development between Noelle and Asta, as well as Mimosa and Asta, without confirming a clear resolution to either relationship. To make matters worse, no one had confessed to Asta, leaving their romantic arcs open and incomplete.

The Untold Story of Charmy's Origins
Dwarves are still largely unexplored
Charmy Pappitson is one of the most popular members of the Black Bulls, mainly due to her big appetite and cute expressions. He is also among the characters who get a more satisfying and cheerful conclusion, eventually ending up in a happy relationship with Rill Boismortier after previously showing admiration towards Yuno throughout the series.
Despite this fairy tale ending, Charmy's dwarf background remains unexplored. It's a theme that the story only lightly touches on without fully expanding on its origins or deeper lore.

Asta and Yuna's final fight ends too soon
Final Clash That Felt Rushed
Shortly after the defeat of Lucius Zogratis, Asta and Yuno face each other in an intense clash to determine the next Wizard King. Many fans were looking forward to this final battle between Asta and Yuno, especially after gaining access to Perfect Full Spirit Dive and Perfect Devil Union.
While the showdown between Asta and Yuna has some impressive moments, its overall length is shorter than many fans expected. Additionally, Asta was in a strong position as the obvious winner, leaving Yuno with limited opportunity to fully face his opponent's fate. Had the fight been given more time to develop, it could have offered a more balanced exchange between the two rivals.

Eight Shining Generals of the Diamond Kingdom remain unused
They need more narrative focus
From start to finish, the Diamond Kingdom remained weak Black clover. Although the Diamond Kingdom often clashed with the Clover Kingdom, many of their mages were weak and lackluster. The Eight Shining Generals were no exception, as despite their flamboyant title, they remained bland until the end.
Among the established kingdoms in Black Clover, the Diamond Kingdom may have posed a greater challenge to the Clover Kingdom, due to its extreme efforts to increase its military power to the point where it blurs the line between human advancement and experimentation.

The truth about Asta's father remains hidden
The identity of Asta's father is still unknown
Asta can be the main protagonist Black cloverbut many questions about his past remain unanswered. Specifically, the identity of Asta's father remains unknown, leaving many fans wondering if Tabata has already forgotten about him in the series.
Additionally, the relationship between Asta's father and mother remains largely unexplored, leaving questions about how they met, what happened to their relationship, and whether his father is still alive and well.

The lack of a transient wizard king
Asta achieves his dream prematurely
Asta definitely deserves the title of Wizard King Black clover. After all, he went above and beyond to prove himself worthy of the title, despite the prejudice against orphans and non-magical individuals like himself in the Clover Kingdom. Therefore, it is appropriate to celebrate Asta's success.
That being said, that doesn't mean there aren't any flaws in Asta's journey or the way his story ends. For many fans, it would be more realistic and appropriate to introduce a transitional Wizard King before Asta, especially considering that Asta has yet to fully mature as a leader. Although he has the power to back up his title, the level of maturity required for the position is still an issue for some fans.

The world building could have been larger in scale
Weak expansion of lands and kingdoms
World building in Black clover is already impressive, but that doesn't stop fans from wanting to see even more kingdoms and countries introduced to further expand the scope of its world.
There are only four main kingdoms Black cloverso introducing more nations might have made the world feel more expansive. To be fair, Tabato's health probably played a role in limiting the range Black cloverworld. On the other hand, a Black clover a sequel could potentially expand the setting further.
