After launching the new multiplayer mode Raid for the Legends v Ghost of YoteiSucker Punch has some surprising news about future updates to this game page. From launch in October 2025 Ghost of Yotei has already seen a lot of success, with Sucker Punch continuing to push the experience forward with new updates and smaller content additions for players to enjoy while exploring Japan's Hokkaido region.
While players are still waiting for potential DLC news, Sucker Punch has delivered its expected Ghost of Yotei Legends multiplayer experience, a set of free-to-play modes that adds co-op modes for two and four players. Fans will likely recall a similar experience to Ghost of Tsushima, though the updated mode in this version features narrative missions that pit players against demonic versions of Yotei Six enemies. There is also a classic survival mode where 4 players work together to overcome increasingly difficult waves of enemies on 4 unique maps. However, the actual endgame was launched recently and brought a new Raid mission for players to try out.

Ghost of Yotei Wolf Petting is actually a lot weirder than you realize
The Ghost of Yotei star reveals that the process of animating the game's wolf petting scene was considerably weirder than many gamers might have imagined.
Ghost of Yotei Legends is releasing its last major update
After running Raid for Ghost of Yotei Legends in April, lead designer Darren Bridges spent some time thinking about the experience of creating. Finally, the team at Sucker Punch described the mode as a sort of escape room that actively tried to kill the player. Although it was designed as a challenging experience, the studio kept in mind that they were ultimately designing it for a wider audience who might not be able to play it for several hours, so it baked in a few tweaks, such as the ability to jump right back into a boss once players run out of puzzles and either run out of time, have problems, or people have to leave.

While Sucker Punch loved seeing people play and experience the Raid, including seeing them Ghost of Yotei players fight the Demon Dragon, Bridges ends the blog post by admitting that the Raid update was “the last big planned update for Legends” and that it finally wraps up the Yotei Six story in this mode. While it sounds like the Sucker Punch could be done with major additions, the extent of this commentary is not really known. It's possible that smaller patches could still arrive to help balance or fix issues, but reading Bridges' comment, it looks like there won't be any additional content.
If this is indeed the case, it is certainly a little surprising Ghost of Tsushima's Legends multiplayer mode has received a lot of new content long after the mode's original launch. actually Ghost of Tsushima Legends added additional maps and game modes, such as Rivals, the following year after the game's launch, and even along with Iki Island and the Director's Cut.

It's possible that Sucker Punch doesn't consider the maps a “major update”, but it's not entirely clear what that means going forward. Either way, players are expecting some DLC similar to the Iki Island expansion, which eventually happened Ghost of Tsushima. It's possible that new content could launch alongside such an expansion, but for now fans will have to continue to wait for a potential official reveal from Sucker Punch or Sony.
