Summer gaming festivities are almost here Xbox Games Showcase 2026 air on Sunday, June 7 at 10:00 a.m. PT/1:00 p.m. ET, and fans now know of one game that will appear at the event. Other confirmed events at the time of writing include PlayStation State of Play on June 2nd and Summer Game Fest on June 5th. Nintendo hasn't confirmed anything yet, at least for now, but a Nintendo Direct is expected to take place sometime in June.
While the Xbox Games Showcase 2026 only has this one game confirmed, it's worth noting that some fans think the recent Xbox Game Pass update was leaked. Basically, a bunch of games have just been moved to TBA/Coming Soon, making users think they'll show up at the Showcase. The alleged leaked Xbox Games Showcase games are Clockwork Revolution, Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy, Tropico 7, Armatus, Witchbrook, Fableand There are no ghosts in the Grand. Interestingly though, none of these games are the confirmed ones.

June 7th is Double Dip in Gears of War: E-Day
The Xbox Games Showcase will be followed by a Gears of War: E-Day Directly, but as previously announced, Gears of War: E-Day will also be present at the Xbox Games Showcase. This should not be surprising since the event in 2024 featured Black Ops 6 during the Showcase and Direct and the 2025 event Outer worlds 2. Both were released in these respective years, meaning fans can expect Gears of War: E-Day even this year, despite not being on the above list. During the Direct event, it will introduce “new details, gameplay and insights” into the game, according to Xbox.

As fans of the franchise know, Gears of War: E-Day is a prequel set before the events of the original Gears of War. Developed by The Coalition and People Can Fly they worked on Gears of War: Judgmentit sees players step into the shoes of Marcus Fenix and Dom Santiago during the events of Emergence Day. The Locust Horde attacks the surface and confronts the Coalition of Organized Governments (COG) in the city of Kalona. As this is the first contract, Gears of War: E-Day working to bring some of the horror behind the Locust Horde back to the fore.
Overall, it looks like a solid game and has been slated for release for some time in 2026. Which is why the aforementioned TBA Xbox Game Pass section doesn't include the title. Maybe there is some special backend stuff since Xbox intends to shadow drop Gears of War: E-Daywhich would be a great way to dominate the conversation for a while, even if it's just playful speculation. But in all likelihood, this alleged Xbox Game Pass leak isn't “hiding” as many details as fans would have hoped.

The list of Xbox games in 2026 (published by Xbox Games Studio) is interesting. Forza Horizon 6 is one of the best-rated games of the year so far with Gears of War: E-Day and Fable there are two big ones on the horizon. Combined with other Xbox Games Studio games, those mentioned in the leak, and possible surprises, it looks like Xbox has finally struck. But let's see how the Xbox Games Showcase shakes out.
