A remake of Baldur's Gate 2 is reportedly in the works

According to a new report, the remake Baldur's Gate 2 is already in development. The report came via PC Gamer, which didn't share its source but seemed confident about the details. Baldur's Gate 2 received a remaster back in 2013, but this project is said to be a full-fledged remake. Fans of the original will likely be excited to know that the game's original co-lead designer Kevin Martens has returned to work on the remake. In addition Baldur's Gate 2Martens also worked on titles such as Neverwinter Nights, Mass Effectand Diablo 3and currently for the upcoming Mass Effect-like a game Exodus.

There is no definite answer as to whether the original Baldur's Gate is also being redone, but it looks likely. It is believed that both can be worked on at the same time, but this is not confirmed. However, with that in mind, there is currently no known time frame for when these games might come out.
